4 years of managing the Starsiege League, 2 years of managing the SSL 1 vs 1 ladder, organizing the original Starsiege Homecoming event, overseeing the Ragnarok MOD, 3 years of a moderately successful web design business, and a slew of other projects that were ALL completed before we started 2845 project basically contradict the "never completed anything" statement. The only project that we've never completed was 2845, and that decision was essentially taken out of our hands by time, circumstance, and unavoidable reliance upon under performing 3rd parties.

The tossing the fans to the curb was a bit much. We shut the forums down for a week to reorganize and remove Starsiege related material as per legal requirements. The forums have been reopened since then.

While we realize that shutting the project down might have dashed some peoples hopes, continuing was not an option and would have just resulted in a very dated looking and most likely buggy product that no one would have been satisfied with.

Imagine how you would feel if you had invested the thousands of hours of your personal time and money into the project like we did. Pulling the plug most certainly was not a snap decision. But all things considered it was the right decision.

This project ceased being a MOD over a year and a half ago and became a stand alone game using the Torque Shader Engine. This is the reason this MOD profile is no longer updated.

The release has been pushed back to 2007 due to the fact that we now have to fully code the game and produce all the art assets from scratch instead of just MODding an already existing game. Tribes:Vengeance turned out to be completely unusable for our needs, hence the switch to a full game. The final game will be released as a free download.

A playable alpha tech release using the older Torque Game Engine is available on Filefront to download now:

It will only be available for Tribes:Vengeance, that is part of our agreement with Sierra. They aren't interested in selling copies of UT, it makes them no money. There's a very good chance this will be boxed and sold as a standalone product as well.

Unfortunately no, and actually the game is for the upcoming Tribes:Vengeance, not UT. This site has not added T:V to it's selection list of games to be modded and T:V is using the Unreal engine, hence the UT designator.

But just as an FYI, the NATO symbol is a 4 pointed star, not a 5 pointer like the "mech" has.

We have definite plans to port the MOD over to T:V once it comes out. We are also considering approaching Sierra directly to get official sanction for this since some of our staff have inside contacts there, and they have a history of packaging well constructed MOD's with some of their popular releases (Counter Strike, Team Fortress, Team Rabbit 2, etc).

Regardless of the direction we take, we plan on turning over all the assets we produce for this project to them anyways once the MOD is released for them to do with as they please. As it says in our mission statement, we don't care if it's us, them, or some other third party that makes the game, we just want to see Hercs roaming the servers again.
