Well, a number of bugs have just been blasted to dust by our freaking awesome coders, so who knows ;)
Well, a number of bugs have just been blasted to dust by our freaking awesome coders, so who knows ;)
We've been working on Dual Weapons for a long time, well, I say we, I mean our coders of course...
You mean the design of the Falcon?
Its just based around a more realistic weapon, in that it exists more or less...
1. I believe the damage is still being tweaked on some weapons, though I couldn't say for sure as I'm not a coder :D
2. To my knowledge yes, it was being tested recently.
3. I'd love to, but due to copyrights etc its not clear as to whether or not this would be possible, we will be doing our own PD story & it is my hope that if no official support is forthcoming, I could find some folks to do an unofficial version using the PD:S stuff, so that if anyone took the flak, it would be me, not PD:S. I mean, come on, what sales is it going to deprive anyone of? Besides, I would love to play a fully realised set of the first 3 levels :D
4. Crouching: Not Sure. Aiming: Believe So. Jumping: No Jump is Standard, but is a server option.
Thanks for the questions :)
Thats alright, it'll be along as quick as possible though...
I'm pretty sure I answered that question as best I could a few posts ago...
Whilst the screen is unsure (we had it but now it opperates on in-game CVars & exterior text files) you can pick & choose a maps weapon settings.
Heh, you ain't the first to say that :)
It all depends really, if we had a coder right now who could work solidly for a day or so, theres a good chance we'd be very very close, on our website we have a meter for our proximity to Beta 1.
As you can see, weapon wise, we're all but there, levels are even further along & character models are inches from done.
Its feasible then that soon could be before the end of summer, were we to have the time/extra hands needed. As it is, we have few hands, & hard though they work, they have lives too.
I can't & won't give an estimate, if anyone were to be able to it would be Iggy or Gectou, but Iggy is on holiday. For now, I suggest you look at that checklist & make a generous estimate :)
We are pushing, hard & with tremendous-awesomeness.
But a release date still cannot be assured, though we're damn close to Beta 1. Bugs to hunt you know ;)
As Iggy says, we have a new Concept for the laptop, one of them is of my own design & the model for it just makes me squeal like a school girl :D
Then you have my appologies & I have removed the comment.
However, sarcasm works a lot better when its obvious, your post was easy mistake.
Hey, what kind of artist & work are you looking for?
Well, to the person who asked about the method of release:
Once its ready we'll launch a public beta, which will feature a number of things, hopefully fairly polished if not complete.
Whilst you're all enjoying that, we'll be carrying on with the next release which will (assuming everything in the first release is fine) will add maps/weapons/modes etc
That will be it, we'll just keep adding till we have everything as it should be, obviously, we'll make patches perhaps included with each release where needed, but the basic release structure will be; Beta 1 - Beta 2 - Beta 3 etc each adding more features untill we reach the final completed, flawless model :D
Then of course, its on to Single Player, all things willing ;)
Well, you can pretty much accpet 100% that should we make it to Single Player, it'll be longer than an hour :)
As for the original single player, should we get to that, well, its a hard one really, as many people that would be happy to see our take on the originals, would be upset that we changed them, for example, the nonsense we get about the weapons...
That said, we can but try right? :D
Thebest-28, please don't be a fool.
PD 64 maps had the look they did because making them better would have made them unplayable, if we gave you a 1:1 you'd get bored of it quickly, what we are doing is keeping the gameplay & layout that made PD 64 great, & giving it a new coat of paint. Sure, not all of it fits right now, but PD 64 was made a while ago & was set in the future, we're setting this in the future too.
If you liked PD64, you should like this, it will feel the same, it will play the same, the levels will have the same layout. All that will change is the look & even then you can still tell whats what.
There would be no point to doing a 1:1 at all.
I reckon you'll still love the shotgun ;)
Well, if you're looking to help but lack the talent, then you can always help by finding us people with the talent!
Obviously no spamming or anything like that, but if you know people/someone, or run into someone who could help, make sue you encourage them to take a look :D
Well, for those of you worrying about Single Player, you haven't been forgotten, but we want to get the multiplayer done first.
Single Player will come later ;)
I wouldn't worry mate, with Iggy & Gectou at the helm nothing will be released unless its 100% ;)
PDMod is far from dead, but as with any such project, we're just getting on with things, we try & keep you guys updated, but right now, its work work, infact, I may have some medias for you all in a day or so, might not be much, but we can't have you thinking we're dead now can we!
I must say I'm intruiged, this could be an utterly amazing mod, keep up the classy work guys, loving that laser cannon :)
Not to tease, but from playing it, you're right, you can't wait, its even more amazing seeing all the little things, really, you have to discover it for yourself, these guys are great :D
I think we're still planning on doing SP eventually, hell, Gec wrote out an amazing script...
Just give the hard working coders/modellers a little time ;)
Okay 3D Modellers, WE NEED YOU!
Basically PDMod is in need of some modelling talent, hell, if you do anything that might be useful we could probably make use of you!
We've got a really good team working on the mod, but you can't ask everything of a few good men ;) so, if you like Perfect Dark & have some skills you think we could use, please, head on over to www.pdark-mod.com & submit your request to join in the forums, alternatively, take a look, see what you think & if you're interested, contact me & I'll pass on your name & contact details :)
Thanks guys!
