Torchgrimm Blog

Okay, so the popular thing to do when someone hands you a blogging platform is either to use it to rant to the world about that one really minor thing that annoys you so much or to pull a shameless plug.
This entry, my first entry, falls into the shameless plug category.
Coming soon is a new mod I've been constructing, name unknown. It's purpose is to make the whole TL2 experience a bit more...serious. Torchlight and Torchlight II are excitingly bright games, I know. But I've played through both games many, many times and, quite frankly, I think I'm ready to move on to a new style.
One of the things I've been noticing is that the first Act is amazing. The other ones are sadly lacking. There is kind of a lull in the plot. You can't relate.
At least, I couldn't.
So, for this mod, I think I'll be making bold, risky, and possibly stupid decisions. Think about this: What if General Grell of Act I kills Commander Vale instead of holding her prisoner? What if in Act II, instead of marching across an endless desert to kill scores of monsters by furiously clicking on them, you march against an armored fortress, and, amidst a barrage of arrows, raid the monstrous fortress as the entire Act? What if the end-act bosses were fare bigger, badder, and more imposing than they are now?
Torchlight II has a lot of potential. It's just that I've overplayed it far too many times now, and need a change. A big change. So, coming in the near future is a big change to your doorstep, via ModDB. It won't be a complete mod when I offer it, as it will overhaul too many things for me to slap together all the changes in a short period of time, but it will be available to all as a beta.
Oh, and one more thing.
For the low, low price of $19.99, plus S&H, you, too, can get a pre-release version...
Until next time, happy hunting, guys.
