Heya! I'm a young game designer and UI designer from Berlin and mainly known for two Age of Empires 3 mods, The Ancient Age (TAA) and Napoleonic Era (NE). I've also been admin on the German age-community.net, organizing contests and all other the funny stuff. I particularly love historical RTS and action games, most prominently the Age of Empires and Total War series. Apart from that I'm an enthusiast of music, philosophy, arts, languages, food and lots of other interesting stuff that's crossing my way. My sarcasm might be deadly, but I'm an easy person, err .. mostly! ^^

Just download and run the installer, which will automatically detect AoE3 in your Steam directory. NE doesn't overwrite your original files, so you've got nothing to worry about. :)

Thanks for your nice comment! :) Finns are already added as Minor civ. As for Danes, keep your eyes open the next days.. ;)

The game can only have 14 AI players. So you can play as Ottomans (check your HCs), but the AI can not play them. We'll offer a workaround for this in the next version. :)

The Inca and Persian civilization are currently only bonus civs and hence work-in-progress, so let's not bother with these for now. As for Polish farms and American ranch, they surely could look more appropriate, even though I think that in spite of the farms being originally used in the Aztec civ, the farm itself doesn't really look aztec and hence like something alien in the Polish civ.

Hard to tell, since I do not know what files this popcap mod uses to work. I do have my doubts though.

Napoleonic Era uses a file structure that is different to that of TAD (whose files other mods replace). However, they might be only partially compatible, because Napoleonic Era shares also a few files with TAD. For example, I could imagine that the civs are incomplete.

I'm not sure which file structure the Improvement mod uses, I guess it overwrites original AoE3 files. If you don't have NE yet, but want to have both mods and AoE3, you need one further clean, unmodded directory of original AoE3 in which you can install NE. Of course, this only works, if you didn't install the ImproMod in your only AoE3 directory.

This sort of freeze may rather be related to your hardware specs. How old is your graphics card and what's your processor?

They are. If you go to the HC selection menu, there is an Ottoman HC created. You just can not play against them (yet). We are working on a tool though to make all civs playable by the AI (the number is limited by code to 14). :)

You can just switch by clicking either the TAD or NE desktop icon, because they link to two different .exe files.

You should always use the uninstaller. If the deleted files are still in your recycle bin, then you can restore them and run the installer.

AoE3 doesn't have any DLCs, but you need the Add-Ons The Warchiefs and The Asian Dynasties in order to play it.

The most important files of NE are different than those of other mods and AoE3. However, we also overwrite files that other mods and AoE3 use as well. So I would personally not recommend it. Our new file system was actually made to avoid the complete uninstall of AoE3 whenever you would wanted to remove NE. That's the whole purpose of it.

Hey, I'll check the Fusilier sounds, thanks for the hint. As for the Sch├╝tzen textures, the Napoleonic uniform is not retarded (check here: De.wikipedia.org). Step by step we're trying to move on to a system that links every age to a timespan in history (so Age 5 is like 1806-1815).

We're glad you appreciate the AI. I will forward your positive feedback to our AI scripter. ;)

That is normal (and was already like that in all prior versions) due to the game limit of 14 AIs. We will release a tool in the future though that allows you to choose the AIs before the game. :)

No, because that is usually the last thing a mod would do (because it requires everything else to be finished). But if you got any ideas for a short campaign, let me know. ;)
