Ok, let me break this down for any noob to both Mount and Blade and the world of mods that are out there for it. There are 2 main GoT mods. This one, and ACOK. Firstly, both are awesome mods. This one has more troops (though not all of them look good) a smaller map (although most buildings have alot more detail when you walk around) you can have bigger parties, and way bigger battles (without tweeking the settings). Also there is a **** load more to do in this game outside of the normal conquer and raid and pillage etc. That being said, the biggest drawback this has is the map. Westeros is ok, but essos sucks, and ACOK takes the lead for that.
You MUST try both, and remember that these guys make this for free, so rather than pitch the 2 off against each other, appreciate them for what they are, 2 great mods. That being said, it would be super cool if both developers could create a hybrid :P
