Little does Famine know that he hipster-d harder than them all by alienating and insulting both oldschool black metal traditionalists, and newschool experimentalist hipsters in flannel. Fantano should stop reviewing black metal albums altogether. Don't have anythin' with the guy,don't get me wrong,but he doesn't know a goddamn thing about black metal. Hipsters should stay away from black metal,as it was meant to be.
I don't mind Fantano's reviews, personally. I think he's a funny guy, despite looking like a goddamn hipster.I just find it ridiculous that Famine of Peste Noire is mocking his main source of income, that being hipsters who enjoy ridiculous, experimental black metal. At the same time he ***** on those who enjoy 'traditional' black metal, essentially alienating everyone and making himself appear as the biggest hipster ******* of them all.
Hipsters have already appropriated a specific sect of black metal. Experimental, atmospheric, shoegaze crap. Since black metal was deliberately designed to be as universally unappealing as possible, it's no wonder hipsters jumped on that **** to be part of the kool kidz klub.
