Hi I'm new to modding and would love some help. I would also like to be on a source modding team once I firgure out what the hell is going on!

Also, I might try to get some new games, like crysis 2 or something, but my cpu only has 900 mb of ram, and the motherboard will only take 2 GB sooo right now this modding stuff might cost a lot of money to do, if I wanna buy that kind of stuff.

Fiinally, as I said above, please please please give me some advice on mapping, charater desgin, and even a little bit of coding, because it's always good to know a little bit right?

Thanks for reading!

I didn't say you were, I say you sound like one just because of how you wrote that post.
Why does your profile say you're 20 then ;)?

Thanks for the tips, I wanna be a mapper, I would be a modeler but I cant draw, and my models would suck

Got the UDK huh? How is that?
My computer can't run it:(

I figured I'll answer here in case you do not check my profile (most likely).

You don't have to be a good 2D artist (drawing...) to be a good modeler. It will surely help, when you've got something down on paper and you can see what u actually have to model. Specially when beginning and you just make it on the go it can go wrong in many different places.

So stick at mapping for now, once you feel pretty good about your maps you can start creating basic assets in 3d (now you also have a goal: assets that will actually be used in your maps).

Motivation is key!

As for the UDK, I'm still learning it. I've got an old but decent computer and I'm running the x64 build it runs pretty smooth. I still have to make something worth showing so maybe it'll break once I get some more complex stuff. I do like it more than Hammer!
