Good mod, but I feel like the narrower FOV and weirdly sluggish controls spoil it a bit. It really screws with you at first and then just generally impedes gameplay when you do get used to it. Trying to rectify movement through fake console makes it worse.
The 21st Nova Corps were my fav as a kid. I actually found my old action figure a couple of years ago, been standing on my desk ever since. Shame I lost his DC15.
Just found this mod, ran into the same issue. Took me some time to realise that the "optional" reshade is very much compulsory. I was trying to run the game without installing the reshade folder, installing that fixed it for me.
Sweet, love this mod. Been playing it every year for the past few years. Glad to see it's still being updated.

I don't know if it's just me, but something about the air or the buildings looks soft / hazy. Other than that, good stuff.
This looks super cool. Will there be a toggle for it if you want to go back to stock or will it mean moving files every time? Also will the stock characters be in the random rotation as well?

Great map, gives me Motorstorm Pacific Rift vibes weirdly. I did find a small bug though. Capping all the CPs on hero assault doesn't trigger the victory timer. I had to force victory from the fake console.
You absolute legend. It works a right treat, thank you so much. The scaling works great and I'm not getting the OIT issue either. Odd that the website didn't give me an update notification for the mod though (I'm following the game page).

In terms of which I'd rather have, I'm not fussed. I don't know the first thing about making graphics mods, and I'm really not in the position to be picky. Both sound good to me. I'd say go for whichever you'd think would be less of a faff to implement or whichever you think would suit a larger number of users. So long as it improves graphics and doesn't lock me to 3840x2400 I'd be more than happy.

Hey, thanks for relaying my issues.
Turning off the Order-Independent Transparency fixed the first-person issue. I also temporarily set my W10 res to 1920x1200 (I have a 16:10 screen) and 2560x1600 and everything is fine. It just doesn't like 3840x2400.

The resolution issue is a weird one for me as well. I wouldn't have thought an RTX card (even a laptop one like mine) would struggle either. I'm on a Dell XPS 17 9700 with an i9 10885H, RTX 2060 Max-Q. It's a 3840x2400px, 16:10, 60Hz, 35ms screen (it's a Sharp SHP14D6 panel) if that helps you.
I tried temporarily setting my W10 resolution to 1920x1200 (slightly taller than 1080p, because of my 16:10 screen) and everything was fine. I also set it to 2560x1600 and that was fine as well. But at 3840x2400 it's not happy.
My 'benchmark' for the frame rate is Pantora from the Clone Wars Extended mod ( Moddb.com ) as the majority of the map is a massive snow storm with almost no visibility. If I can maintain 60 FPS there, the rest of the game will be fine. 1200p maintains 60 easily, 1600p sits at 55-60, but 2400p drops to around 20-25.
With that being said, I've noticed FPS drops on parts of Harrison's versions of Mygeeto and Hoth as well as the rainy version of Kothlis Sea Heaven ( Moddb.com ).
I'll try the FSR and render scale options and get back to you later today (hopefully no more than a few hours).

I'm pretty gutted that the shader patch isn't as polished as it could be, even with the latest revision. So much potential for epicness.
It still has no option to control the reolution (couldn't find it in the settings nor in the "\" menu). You either get locked to 800x600 or to native. In my case native is 4K, and it absolutely tanks my FPS (this is with a 2060 Max-Q) on maps with a lot of particles in the air (snow, fog, rain, etc...)
It also still breaks first person view. Ship cockpits still vanish unless you're facing a specific direction. The opposite is true for weapons, they vanish when facing certain directions.

Setting my W10 resolution to FHD breaks the rest of the OS. And quitting the game every time before I boot up a space map or a busy map just to turn the patch off (and then doing the same to turn it back on) is way too much trouble.
Here's to hoping that SleepKiller can iron out those issues in the future.
I found out what the issue was while fiddling around with some other mods I had installed. It was the shader patch by SleepKiller that was causing the issue. I turned it off and everything was fine again.
Good map, surprisingly densely packed with passages and floors (quite easy to get lost the first time). Took me a while to find the rabbit lol, though the hidden room was worth it.
I lost my first match on this map because I got carried away in the museum section. LOL
Not bad, but the well in front of CP 3 needs collision detection. I fell straight through the map.

Is there a way to adjust the game resolution with this mod installed? In my options I've got 800x600 which looks dreadful or my laptop's native 3840x2400. The 2400p is fine on pretty much all maps except ones that have particles flying through the air (snow, rain, fog, etc...), then my framerates start to drop to around 25-30. This game is actually making my 2060 struggle at some points lol. I'd like to be able to drop down to 1600p or 1200p.

I just installed the 1.5 R2 mod (or at least I think I did, more on that below), but I'm having issues. When I launch it from the new shortcut, I see the very first BF2 load screen with the progress bar / dots, but when they finish loading the game crashes to my desktop immediately (it doesn't get to the developer logos).
This is the same behaviour the game exhibits when I have too many mods, so I renamed the addon folder to addon1 to stop it from accessing any mods, but then the game doesn't even reach the first load screen, it pops up on the task bar for a split second and then vanishes (I'm guessing this mod writes to the addon folder).
I installed the mod in the GameData folder so I don't think I did anything wrong there. However, there is no settings file in the SaveGames folder so I don't know if it installed properly. I tried reinstalling the mod and there is no difference. Tried changing the launch resolution in Steam, but that did nothing. I also restarted my PC and that didn't change anything either.
Could these issues be caused by other mods I have installed? I already had the UOP V1.3 intalled before this. Could the problem also be that I'm right on the edge of the game's mod limit? I tried removing several mods from the addon folder to give this more 'room' (for lack of a better term), but that also did nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

I'm loving this mod, but I've run into a slight bug. I've found that in 1st person, the weapons and fighter interiors tend to disappear unless facing in a specific direction (the direction changes per map).
The game is still fully playable, but it breaks immersion a bit. I'm not sure if this is a bug with this mod or if it's clashing with some other mod I have installed, but I figured I should bring it up.
Everyone knows of earrape, today I learned that there's eyerape as well. If it wasn't for the ridiculous amount of screen shaking (I've seen people having full-on seizures who have shaken less), red flashing and the OP AF droids, this mod would be a riot. You get slaughtered the moment you spawn in because you're long dead before you see what shot you and from where over the red flashing.
Here's to hoping future revisions of this mod have a toggle option for that stuff. If the shaking and flashing can be adjusted, this would a straight 8/10 mod, as it stands, it's at best a 6. I played this for an hour to try and get used to it and just couldn't. For the first time in years I went on a negative KDR in this game, multiple times.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I have the Clone Wars Revised mod which adds the TV show clone wars to GC, I suppose that's what's clashing with it. What's even funnier is that in the past few days I installed a bunch of other mods and GC is now totally bricked for me LMAO (it crashes the moment I select any era). I have to figure out which mod(s) is / are causing the issue. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your V2 release though.
