The piece is a demo piece from one of our sound designers. It is meant to show a wide variety of pieces.
Haha, true, I didn't pull out all of my literary weapons for that one. While it is explaining the obvious, it's explaining something obvious that (as far as I know), no other game has picked up on yet, and since it isn't the usual for games, it did need an explanation.
Oh, and thanks for picking up on that typo, I'll fix that.
Oh, and the United Republic of Species is a codename, and will definitely be changed, since, I'm not a fan of the name either. We're just using it as a generic code name for now.
Wow, look at all those light sources. Fantastic work Nate. :D
I love deferred rendering engines. :D
But not us? :(
So how many polys?
Wow, I love that!
I will take everything you have said into account, and make changes soon, thank you.
As for the lack of professionalism, I do see that. I believe this is because the project is only 19 days old, and we as a team are still transitioning to this new project. As for the lack of consistency, that is because some pieces are significantly older then other pieces, and were part of a previous project. Changes are being made to these older pieces as we transition to our new project. One example, is that our in-house engine, the Maoli engine, gives us the ability to use a much higher polycount for weapons then our previous project allowed for, thus we will be reworking some of our weapons so we can take full advantage of our engine. I assure you that as we move and settle in, things will become much more consistent. I only ask that you please grant us a time to transition to our new project. :)
Trust me, our new project will be much better then The Creation.
We also have a very good engine that is in the works. It's been in production for over a year, and is already very impressive. It's called the Maoli engine.
And I don't see how showing assets at this stage in development is abnormal, since that is what almost every other mod or indie project does. We were actually further then most projects at announcement, since we have the majority of our engine completed.
Announcing gives a community, and a community gives members drive.
Announcing allows it to be much easier to find new members, since there is a good portfolio for the project right here on moddb.
Also, announcing does give the game, in the end, a wider spread of people who know about the project.
We're not an inexperienced team, we know what we are getting into, and we're all serious modders. Trust me, we see the line, and we will not step over it.
We've been working with each other for a long time on other projects, and have been successful thus far.
We're expecting somewhere in the realm of 2 years, maybe more. The game won't be huge, we know our limits. And we are willing to spend these next 2 years on this project, because we do enjoy the work we do, and would gladly put in the effort to create something others will enjoy. :)
No need for hostilities, friend. :)
I can see where the confusion would step in. Do you believe that removing the "by" would fix this? The original intent was that since every picture had type 3 in it, the reader would know that Type 3 was the name of the project, but I understand where you are coming from, never leave anything to context.
I am glad you like our logo, but what do you find to be wrong with our work so far? Is it only the naming, or is it the quality of the assets you found "left much to be desired?" This project is very young, remember.
This looks so cool! :D
Downloading now. :)
Mmmmm, can't wait to work with the new engine...
Wolfpack Designs and I wish you and everyone else a Merry Christmas too. :D
Very nice. :)
It's been awhile since I've seen stuff from this mod, I'm happy it's still goin' strong! :D
Well, if all goes according to plan, you will hear much more soon. :D
Our lead sound designer just got a new mixer and sound card. :)
Oh, and him and another one of our sound designers are now working together on our next piece.
Oh, and thank you very much, the kind comments are the driving force of his motivation, and he thanks everyone for everything they have said. :)
New model for everyone!
The SL-8 rifle.
That is the low poly ingame version. :)
It was composed using computer software.
We did. It was definately the best course of action.
If things go my way, they will be twice as good. :D
Thanks a bunch guys for the kind words, it keeps us going strong. :D
Loving the new content, though can you make the spoiler tag a bit darker? I can read through it.
Yep, basically it branched out. I found a few skilled people, and each one knew one or two skilled people, and each of those people knew one or two skilled people, and etc.
Also, very good communication allowed us to work very efficiently. We talk a lot to each other, and we continue to get more efficient every day as our team and communication grows.
Oh don't worry about that. The story will be purely epic. I have been working on it for a long time, and have been writing video game stories for somewhere in the range of 6 years. This is definitely my best. :D
Also, for all, a nice update (including some story stuffs as well):
We are planning a decently sized update to be released very soon. It will include some more of our current work, as well as some background story and information. :D
