Yes, you're definitely right. But since one of our team members is an aspiring architect, we reworked the actual 3D-model to make it a lot more plausible in terms of physics. ;)

We think that we've come up with a decent battle plan, but we also know from experience that the gaming industry is really, really tough. We'll see to that! Our main priority is the implement the mainquest, which is very complex as it is. We'll definitely add factions, but how much the player can interact/become a part of them is still unclear. That depends on how good we advance. Their also probably won't be the classical "mages, thiefs, and warriors" guilds. It wouldn't fit into our lore. :)

We succeeded in getting our forums and the gallery back online! We've been attacked by hackers, and are now working to restore our database. Nothing has been lost though!

We're a little clueless ourselves, since our server admin isn't actually part of our team. We're currently figuring out whether it is just server maintenance or something worse... Which we really, really don't hope.
What exactly didn't you like about Nehrim's story?
I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it. We certainly tried our best there, but you always evolve and get better as a writer. Putting stuff together from other movies or books is not exactly something that thrills me personally to do. Basically we just want to get a message across and "touch" our players. Thank god we're free from the industries pressure, which would force us do just do stuff "that works".
But I'm sure you've released several popular mods or games with great storylines we could use as a reference on how to create a plot you don't consider "crap"?
Thats pretty much what we're aiming to achieve, yep. We once stated that we'd like to create a synthesis between the intense story-experiences such as Mass Effect has them and combine them with a completely open world-game with a lot of freedom. :)

The game will have different endings, yes. However, we're not yet sure how complex the branching will be. But there will be alot more freedom of choice and the moral choices won't be black and white, yes. :) I'm glad you're looking forward to it. :) We're doing our best!
It will be a little smaller than Nehrim, probably around half the size of Skyrim, but with a high density of quests. :)
