i guess you was trying to install the megamod in C:\Program Files\ that's why it didnt work, because gta san andreas is a 32 bits application and should go inside the 32 bits apps folder in 64 bits windows that is C:\Program Files (x86)\

remember that you must use California Megamod.hta (or California Megamod.exe) to Play any mod or else game will not work (will crash while loading).
some antivirus may interfere with the game because some mods will be writing log files and stuff, you should use an admin account with permissions to avoid problems, and to change HUD and switch from window mode to fullscreen you may need to pause your antivirus if it does not allow to make changes inside california megamod folder.

These are all files and folders that you will find inside California Megamod 3.3 folder when you finished a good installation of california megamod 3.3 (without errors) if anything is missing the you did something wrong and game will not work (unless you just deleted some .jpg pictures and .log files not needed).

make sure you install in an account with admin privileges to avoid problems because the game will need read and write permissions to access files inside the california megamod 3.3 folder or else it will crash or it will not work in the right way.
and remember that you must use California Megamod.hta or California Megamod.exe to Play any mod or else game will not work.

you may need to click the HD button and then rigth click and select SAVE IMAGE AS.. to download the file and see it at full size.

switch the HUD to GTA IV HUD and make sure you are using the reccommended graphic settings for maximum performance (mip mapping should be enabled) ALWAYS before running the game, right click in your desktop and open task manager, check in performance tab how much FREE ram you have (and i mean FREE, not available, gta san andreas will not use available memory, only FREE memory, if you have low free memory game will crash eventhough it works perfect), if you have less than 2 GB free then the game will crash, how to avoid this problem? restart or shut down your computer to free all your ram, now wait 1 minute and start your PC again, and make sure windows have truly finished loading before starting the game (wait untill the hard drive led stops blinking), (it will also help closing some apps that starts since windows starts and that you are not going to use while playing the game). there is a .vbs file in california megamod folder that you can double click when you are short of free ram to force windows to free some ram, although it will only free up to 2 GB maximum, and could give error mesagge in some pcs with less than 8GB of ram installed). if you checked the free ram and you have more than 2GB and you still have crashes then try to pause your antivirus, and set the game to use the GTA IV HUD instead of the GTA V Hud. if nothing works, first i would reccomend you to install again all 7 parts of the megamod and make sure there are no files or folders outside the california megamod 3.3 folder, everything should go INSIDE the california megamod folder.

1- pause or disable your antivirus
2- double click window_or_fullscreen.hta
3- set full screen mode
4- there should be a confirmation message
5- now you can enable again antivirus
6- start the game and now it should run in full screen mode
7- in advanced graphics options enable MIP MAPPING and disable FRAME LIMITER and ANTIALIASING

Ajustes ideales para conseguir el maximo rendimiento en gta san andreas y de paso evitar malfuncionamiento del juego en algunas ocasiones, por ejemplo evitar que el juego se cierre al salir de casa de cj despues de cargar una partida. Evitar crashes frecuentes, o que no carguen algunos modelos o texturas en algunas ocasiones, etc. puede que en ordenadores lentos deban reducir la resolucion que la he puesto al maximo, pero si deben respetar los demas ajustes especialmente activar MIP MAPPING que les dara un aumento tremendo en rendimiento permitiendo un mayor disfrute del juego a mayores resoluciones y desactivar antialiasing pues incluso al minimo va a restarle un monton de FPS al juego.

i did not include any multiplayer mod in california megamod yet, so curently california megamod has no multiplayer support, sorry, it is possible (not tested but in theory, if i'm wrong then it may stop working so its better to make backup of the files in the main folder first if you want to try it) to install sa-mp into california megamod but anyway the game will appear without mods when you play samp. and i suspect its not what you want.

what file are you using to play the mods? did you notice the installer created a shortcut in your desktop? this is the one you should be using to play all mods (and also configure some things), it shows images of all mods and you just have to click on the image of the mod you want to play. it also allows you to read info about any mod (with ? icon). if after the game loads you can not reach the options menu (where you start a new game) because it crashes before, then you dont have the audio folder installed or there are missing files in audio folder. download and install parts 6 and 7 to fix it (click diskette icons).

yes, to remove the white cj and get back to the black one just remove the file player.img from the folder Modloader/BASE/Models and to remove the others enter inside Modloader/PEDS/peds and remove the files: ryder.dff ryder.txd ryder2.dff ryder2.txd ryder3.dff ryder3.txd smoke.dff smoke.txd smokev.dff smokev.txd sweet.dff sweet.txd kendl.dff kendl.txd and to get the original cesar removing leon kenedy remove also cesar.dff and cesar.txd

He instalado windows 8.1 en una maquina virtual con virtualbox y le he instalado el california megamod 3.1, funciona perfectamente, como explicaba en la pagina web que te habia pasado antes, windows te dice que el juego requiere DIRECTPLAY y dice que si lo deseas instalar, le dices que si y lo instala, y luego como el d3dx9_40.dll ya viene en la carpeta del megamod 3.1 pues no hay que hacer nada mas, solo reiniciar el pc y probar el juego y funciona. Prueba a eliminar los archivos gta_sa.set config.set y replay.rep de la carpeta donde se guardan las partidas grabadas que por defecto esta ubicada en C:\Users\ADMIN\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files (reemplaza ADMIN por el nombre de tu cuenta de windows). si eso no soluciona el problema entonces es probable que tu grafica no soporte ENB series, si fuese eso se podria solucionar desinstalandolo, crea una carpeta con el nombre DISABLED dentro del california megamod (o en cualquier otro sitio) y (con cortar y pegar en vez de con copiar y pegar) mueve todos estos archivos a esa carpeta:

si lo hiciste bien habran desaparecido de la carpeta del megamod y ya no estaran funcionando, ahora inicia californiaMegamod.exe. escoge STARMAN MOD. e unicia una nueva partida a ver si te funciona el juego (no cargues una partida grabada para descartar posibles incompatibilidades). tambien puedes probar a quitar HDDisplayResolutions.asi sa_log.asi y flickr.asi pero solo si no funcionase lo anterior

use more quality for the sound encoding to avoid the out of sync problem, maybe 44 khz 128 kbps stereo if you are using mp3 audio, or better use Dolby AC3 44 khz 96 kbps stereo audio + MPEG4 H264 video (the video bitrate depends on the resolution you are using, you may need at least 2000 kbps video bitrate for a decent quality , at least if you are using no HD resolutions) good luck

you will have no problem, it will not ask you for a missing part, but you will need to manually install the AUDIO folder by yourself (copy paste) because the game needs the audio folder or else it will not run.

primero que nada fijate bien a ver si tienes una carpeta AUDIO dentro del megamod, sino pues ahi tienes el problema, descarga e instala la carpeta AUDIO del megamod version 3.1 o 3.2 o copia y pega la carpeta AUDIO de un san andreas original (con instalacion completa porque sino no te copia todo los audios necesarios al disco duro). Si eso no es el problema entonces asegurate de tener instalados los drivers que requiere tu tarjeta grafica, ya sea NVIDIA o ATI/AMD (las intel no sirven para juegos, solo puedes jugar juegos antiguos pero haz la prueba a actualizar los drivers) si eso tampoco soluciona el problema entonces fijate bien lo que dice el mensaje de error y tal vez puedas solucionarlo, GTA San Andreas con ENB series en Windows 8, 8.1, y 10 requieren unas DLL extras del Directx 9 (porque vienen con directx 10 o 11 y no trae instalado el 9 si se pudiera instalar se solucionaria pero bastaria con copiar a la carpeta del megamod las DLL que te pide el juego) alguna DLL puede que no la traiga el megamod pero se puede encontrar y descargar gracias a google si sabes cual es el nombre exacto del archivo que te esta pidiendo, y suele decirlo el mensaje de error. Hace tiempo hice la prueba de correr el megamod en windows 8 y 10 y me pedia d3dx9_40.dll asi que lo inclui dentro de la version 3.1 del megamod, puede ser que necesites otro mas, con otro numero distinto del 40, como 29 o 33, yo uso windows 7 y no me pide dll extras, fijate en esta pagina a ver si te ayuda Mods-gta.blogspot.com.es

All installation files of california megamod 3.2 beta are independent files, they are not .partX.rar they are .EXE and so each one is a full independet installer, and this means that each file must be installed one after another and in the right order (audio part can be installed at the end), the download of the audio file can be skipped but you will need to manually copy and paste the audio folder from version 2.0 or 3.0 or 3.1 or even the original san andreas audio folder from the game without mods (or even the audio from the ripped version can be used, ripped means that some audio files have been muted to make a very small download and so you will not be able to hear some conversations or music, otherwise you will hear everything if you use the audio from the original game or from the california megamod 3.x instead)

intenta iniciar el juego usando californiaMegamod.hta. me gustaria ayudarte mas pero necesito mas informacion. Cual version de windows tienes? XP, 7, 8, 8.1, 10? es de 32 o 64 bits? cuanta ram tienes? cual tarjeta grafica tienes? cual es la ruta donde instalaste el california megamod? has modificado el megamod con algo? por ejemplo has añadido o reemplazado algun .DLL o .ASI ? este mes espero subir una nueva version pero no se decirte que dia, si por mi fuera lo subia hoy mismo, pero no es cuando yo quiero, sino cuando esta suficientemente adecentado, sin errores importantes y sin cosas importantes a medio hacer, las prisas no son buenas, lo se por experiencia. Aunque ya he hecho muchos cambios desde entonces, por si te interesa, en octubre subi una version beta 2 del california megamod 3.2 en este sitio Diskokosmiko.mx

or wait some days untill i get the final 3.2 version ready to upload. i wanted to upload it long ago but the new high specs config for ENB series has been causing a lot of delays because it is hard to find a good configuration, default settings didnt work at all for me, the game looked like it was dopped on a bad LSD voyage, so i have been trying to set all parameters manually by trial and error, and i still didnt get a good settings and anyway it will be too slow for my PC, so i won't be able to use it, it is something for other people with high powered graphic cards, so i'm starting to think in removing it and uploading the megamod with the old low specs ENB configuration only. and maybe in a future date when i have finished the new enb settings i could upload it as an optional update for version 3.2

i would recomend you to download 3.2 beta instead, the files are smaller : 641MB Part 1 (main game files and folders including Cleo folder) + 1GB Part 3 (the Base mod + gamemodes) + 943MB Part 4 (all themed mods) + 1GB Part 5 (alien city and grand carma total conversions) + 3GB Part 2 (audio folder only, but you can skip this file and use audio folder from version 2.0 instead, if you want) download links for california megamod 3.2 beta 2 uploaded in october: Diskokosmiko.mx

some web applications (.hta) included in california megamod 3.2: One will show info about any mod, another will launch the game with the selected mod, one will let you mix mods. One will let you select window mode instead of full screen. one will let you change the language of the cheats menu (those menus available in the game by pressing F5, F6, F7, F8). Another one will let you select if you want to play california megamod or gta san andreas without mods.

(27 oct 2016) I'm currently working in a new application that will let you customize the game as you please, by selecting all the content that you want to load: the WORLD, the VEHICLES set, the PEDS set, the WEAPONS set, the THEMED MOD. a GAMEMODE (or just a different main.scm) (if any) and a small aditional MAP. In the WORLD section you can choose right now between california (SAN ANDREAS), Alien city, or Grand Carma City (NewCity), and more will be available in future versions of the megamod). in VEHICLES section you can choose by now between 2 options: 1- the normal set of vehicles used by the starman mod (shared will many other mods), and 2- the vehicles shared by Alien City, Halo mod, and starwars mod. and i'm thinking if it will be usefull adding more vehicle sets (crysis military vehicles for example). in PEDS section you can choose between NORMAL people (from starman and most mods) and ALIEN Peds (some of them Shared by alien city, halo and starwars), in WEAPONS by now you can choose also between normal and alien weapons, and in MOD/THEME section you can select one of the 29 themed mods included in california megamod (each one with their own specific matching vehicles, peds, weapons,...partially replacing the ones selected previously), in GAMEMODE you have the option if you want to, to add a cleo script that changes the way the themed mods work, i have only a few and they have little differences, but i hope to add more in the future, most of them are variations of the assault gamemode adapted to some themed mods. in last option you can add a small MAP, by now you can choose between: Akina race/drift circuit, Revolution Airport in the desert, cartographer island from halo, a new bigger AREA 51,and Aircraft carrier, and few more i can't remember now. Off course not all possible combinations will work, some may be not compatible, but most combinations will work if you make good choices. hopefully more options will be added in the future in all cathegories but for now i dont want to make the megamod too heavy in megabytes. I hope that in the new way that i'm organizing the mods now i will be able to reduce the size of the megamod (between 400 MB less and maybe 1 GB less) so that i could add more content later without cluttering you hard drive. WHY IS THIS APPLICATION SO IMPORTANT when you already had the mod launcher? because untill now you had some mods (maps) not available in any mod and now you can play with any content included in the megamod, also it is important to let people with old computers customize the game so that they can play the mods that they currently can't play because the game runs too slow in their old PC, they will be able to play faster by disabling some content (for example playing the original san andreas without new textures but with some new vehicles and peds at a playable enough FPS rate.)

24 neon colors available at the moment in all cars at any time from the start of the game, and also available in all mods included in the california megamod 3.2, Cycle through all of the colors by pressing F9 repeatedly, after the white color if you press again the neon light will be disabled, if you press again it will be enabled and start cycling with red color. The last color you used is stored in memory, so if you get out of the car and get inside again later then automatically it will be enabled the neon light with the same color; The same will happen if you change to another car, the neon color will be enabled and with the same color in the new vehicle. The Neon lights only works in cars and trucks (and quad), it does not work in bikes, boats, planes and helicopters. Also the neon light only shows in the ground, if you enable the flying cars cheat the neon light will not be visible while in the air, only when you land. And finally, the neon light under the cars does not replace the shadows of the vehicle. (its not a texture)

i think i know what is happening, when you set it to english and press F6 you see a rectangular area (the menu) but no text, but if you press spacebar, you will see some cars names, and if you select one, then it wil spawn, this means the menu is working but the text is not showing, to fix it, quit the game, and browse to CLEO/CLEO_TEXT open with windows notepad.exe the file cheats(F5).fxt and make sure that its not enabled in the menu the Line adjust option (or something similar) you are seing all the english texts used by the menu, but its not been showed because it is saved in a wrong codification format, go to SAVE AS... and before saving it with the same name and in the same place, make sure to select the ANSI or UTF8 option, do not use unicode, (make sure it is saved as .FXT and not as .txt or .fxt.txt) now save, go to the game and the text will show up in the menus.

California Megamod does not use steam at all, and it includes all needed files to run independently, so it doesnt matter what version of gta-sa you have in another folder. just do not mix the california megamod files with your gta san andreas files. Install the megamod in a separate folder like a different game. try disabling User Account Manager, adding the exe application files to the Data Execution list, delete the gta_sa.set and config.set from GTA San Andreas User files. run CaliforniaMegamod.exe as admin. set the exes of the megamod to run in Windows XP (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode.

gta san andreas comes in ENGLISH and SPANISH, so you can set the game to english, and also the megamod has an option to select the language of the cheats menu, selecting between ENGLISH, SPANISH, and PORTUGUESE, and i could support more languages but no one has sent me a translation for other languages. Anyone can create a translation to any language by using windows notepad.exe the file that must be translated is inside the LANGUAGES folder, and its name is ENGLISH_cheats(F5).fxt, make a copy of the file, rename the copy as LANGUAGE_cheats(F5).fxt (for example FRENCH_cheats(F5).fxt or GERMAN_cheats(F5).fxt) edit the file with windows notepad.exe translate every word to the new language, replace the author name in the first line with your name, and save the changes, now send a copy to me, so that i can add it to the megamod.NOW to change the active language, double click the file Language.hta and select the flag of the country where your language is spoken, this script will replace the file Cheats(F5).fxt inside the folder CLEO/CLEO_TEXT, with a COPY of the file with the language that you selected, so that the next times you play the game the cheats menu will appear in the selected language. until you change it to another language, the language files will not be touched, only copies of them will be moved to the cleo/cleo_text folder and renamed as cheats(F5)fxt replacing the current one. so if you edit the one in the cleo folder be carefull not to replace it by accident before making a backup of it inside the languages folder with the appropiate name depending of the language. some limitations in the san andreas engine may make it hard to show some desired characters from some languages in the game.

the megamod has been designed to be as much flexible and versatile as possible, for the next version i'm thinking of adding more options in the .hta mod launcher to customize the launching of the mods, but anyway, as it is now, it can be customized manually, if you know how to mod the game, you can even run the game without mods at all, and there is a folder named YOURMOD inside MODLOADER folder, you can use it to create your own customized mod, by default its empty, so it will make the game appear without mods, unless you launch the mod using the command "STARMAN.EXE" -mod BASE -mod YOURMOD which will make the game load with some content from the starman mod + the files inside YOURMOD folder. Alternatively you can customize the content inside YOURMOD folder by copying just the files and folders that you want from the BASE folder (or from any other folder inside the modloader folder) (or content downloaded from internet with the vehicles peds weapons and maps you want). Anyway you will have to take care by yourself alone of any incompatibility issues between mods that will happen while customizing the megamod.

that is strange, are you sure is there? maybe you are looking in another downloads folder, or maybe it has another name, i mean usually if a download fails and you try to download it again, some internet browsers will rename it, adding (1) at the end, so that it does not replace the previously downloaded file. if that is the case then the installer will not be able to identify it as the required file unless you rename it to delete the (1) in the name. check if you have 2 files with the same name (two xxxxx.part2 files) but one of them with a (1) or (2) at the end, then delete the smaller of them, and rename the bigger one (the one with the right size), if that doesnt work then delete the file and download it again.

try again, i have just tested all files from all versions and they are all working, california megamod 3.1 are just 2 files by the way (but 3GB each one), and the 2nd one is the audio folder which its optional. and version 3.2 beta 2 is available for download too, although there is no direct link in my website, but you can find it looking at my profile in Diskokosmiko.mx

Don't try to play the game using gta_sa.exe or starman.exe, etc., these are wrong ways to start the game, use CaliforniaMegamod.hta or CaliforniaMegamod.exe instead, also download and apply latest fixes/updates. And if you add others mods to the megamod by yourself then you are responsable for any crashes that you may get, add your mods only inside California Megamod\modloader\YOURMOD\ folder and use YOUR_OWN_MOD option in CaliforniaMegamod.hta to start your mod.
