Knights of the Old Empire 1 - Awakening

Mod review

An awesome total conversion for an already amazing game.
Anyone who enjoys Empire at war or good star wars stories will enjoy this modpack.

Heres a few suggestions:
-buff the volume of the custom voice overs.
-Change Order's voice to Colonel Veers and Unity's voice to Admiral Ackbar.
-Nerf Order & Unity [Maybe remove all but 1-2 railguns and remove 1/4 of the turbolasers and about 1/4 to 1/3 of the fighter squadrons?]
-Add an AI [just a simple, idiot AI] to GC so we can have some fun with it :)
-Buff Obsidian Phoenix's damage or add an Ion Cannon strike [like Y-Wings]
-Buff Darth Sideous's ship. A level 3 Knights space station killed it.

Can't wait to play the land battles and galactic conquest. :) Keep up the epic work! [because awesome is too mild a term for this.)

Republic at War

Mod review

I love this mod. The graphics, voice-overs, unit line-ups, and battlefields are awesome. The large galaxy and forms of balance require players to adopt a totally new Empire At War strategy to win, and I found it challenging at first, but then, with all my stratagies perfected and Lord Vader leading the final charge, I reflected some more on the numerous issues that warrant a low review. And that's not mentioning that it took me 3-5 hours just to get it to launch to the main menu.
Major issues:
-Saving games crashes RAW and creates no save files.
-Skirmish AI has no programming to build units.
-Most heros are only able to handle hordes of low-level infantry/fighters. On the ground, the units have a variety of models and abilities, while in space, the heros tend to adopt one or two special fighters with minimal abilities and only laser cannons to engage other fighters.
-Lack of a guide/manual that I could find. When I hit the Order 66 event I had no way of finding out if it was worth slugging it out for more hours to see if anything else cool happens. Likewise, I never found out how the CIS had a pair of Saboath Destroyers orbiting Fresia, despite exhuastive searches of the CIS tech tree and building locations.
-2 of the conquests are identical as far as I could tell, and one of them was nearly identical to the other 2. No change in unit deployments, planetary controls, etc.
Minor Issues
-Delta 1138-Boss's voiceover could use some changes. His alternation between Boss and Boba Fett voice overs was confusing and ruined some of the immersion. On that topic, Scorch's Anti Armor launcher was very underpowered, maybe replace it with a missile attack instead of the terrible plasma grenades?
-No hints as to what was waiting for me in "Fall of the Jedi" conquest.

I'm sorry to leave such a low review, but based on what I've read and seen on youtube, most of the major issues were not present and likewise I couldn't find anything to help me.
