yea i hope i can tell you that its not totaly dead, but we lack a coder for the whole game, we cant start making levels untill the base of the game is done. since ive got some time on my hands again il try to find someone thats willing to code for us. stay tuned

No, making details out of brushes takes less Cpu then making them into models, cause models are made out of triangles on hi-res, making a sign would take far more triangles then making it in brushes.
next to that, because its the 1st map we are making, it takes time to think of good buildings and gathering textures, thats why the prosses of the mapping goes kinda slow, also, because me and bigbigbigdaddy are the only mappers active and bigbigbigdaddy making the weapons, it leaves me to make the most of the mapping and texturing alone.
