Blitzkrieg Mod

Mod review

Totally fantastic mod for an already fantastic game, the Blitzkrieg mod adds much needed diversity in unit types, vehicles, vehicle skins, tech trees and unit abilities not previously seen in the base game. (I hate saying "vanilla"). Additionally there is massive component of realism that the I felt the game always was lacking, what for being a visually stunning WWII game with a great deal of riveting stories, this being evident in the fact that now ANY faction can dig trenches, plant obstacles, and the Germans actually have freaking artillery. Squad weapon upgrades are comprehensive and make sense in accordance with the perceived battlefield role(s), tanks and AT guns, (for all you who play the game online often, not every one is a "PaK" BTW) have much better penetration, sight lines, range, armor effectiveness, and abilities. I actually enjoy the attention to detail that the dev-team made to having artillery bombardments having to COST MUNITIONS as it ACTUALLY WOULD in real war, as well as making squad upgrades cost significantly more that they did in some cases and quite a bit less in some others again, making sense as you would have to ship all the AMMO with the NEW GUN a soldier gets.

But I digress, the mod is great and I would give in a recommendation any day for someone who wants to play COH modded, that being said I would love to see the glory of this mod expanded, perhaps to other things such as their own Eastern front expansion (as to not **** off the EF modders), an early war mode, or maybe even keep the game in a 1944-1945 setting, but add other factions, like Italy, Hungary, Free French Forces, and/or the existing factions getting the ability to call in units of said nations. British can call in ANZACS and Canadians, Germans can call in Hungarians, Romanians, Spanish Blue division, etc. and the Americans can call in Free French and Moroccan volunteers.
