My prototype was done in Kismet. A tool for visual scripting in UDK.I received a lot of criticism for not implemented it using traditional programming. I believe that visual scripting is very useful. Really. For a guy like me (generalist) is incredibly useful. In the unreal engine 4 we have a really interesting tool called blueprint. Some people say this is a waste of time. What do you guys think? Visual Scripting: It is worth?

Visual scripting certainly has its advantages and disadvantages. Visual scripting abstracts the 'traditional programming' method into a visual representation based on interconnecting node objects through i/o. With this in mind, a programmer can see physical representations of data flow during real time. I really think that because you describe yourself as a generalist, and because you have success using a visual scripting method, that using visual scripting for your own purposes is perfectly acceptable. I find no downside to using the methods of development that allow for the most understanding per developer. With that in mind, visual scripting may not appeal to someone who likes to have the most amount of control over their projects. Visual scripting may also not appeal to someone who is used to a 'traditional programming' method as well. The methods used for development of any digital application, video games or not, should be determined by the developer based on the developer's design goals, nothing more, nothing less. If you find that you have the greatest understanding and control over your development using a visual scripting method, then I would suggest you keep doing what you are doing until a point in time you feel ready to migrate or expand from visual scripting.
