Just not balanced.

Just not balanced.
too many to keep track of. The easiest way will be for you to check the SVN history.
It is in the mod, only not available in standard games unless you mod it yourself because its an extremely powerful ship that has not yet been balanced.
The best way to solve this is to make sure you are both using the EXACT same version of the mod.
You know the old saying of "You may have won the battle, but we won the war."
Think of that laterally in terms of firepower.
dont try to give the kimbahuta any orders, just watch it dock by itself.
there are .big versions of the mod available and have been for some time.
If you've been trying for a year by yourself without asking for help, why haven't you visited the forums and made a profile for us to help troubleshoot you through the problem and make it work?
I have osx 10.6.x and it works fine on my computer.
Did you read the instructions I provided with the mac version to make the mod work?
if its experiencing a de-sync when ships are exploding, try turning off explosion damage as an option.
the de-sync is impossible to fix, that is either a problem with the game itself (homeworld 2) or a problem between the computers playing.
Just remember that colonials are stronger in pilot to pilot combat as cylons has less anti fighter capabilites and all battlestars can build vipers etc.
A problem was found that was messing with the version expiration. It just takes some time to remake the different files for release. You just need patience for a bit longer until the new files are finished and uploaded.
There was a problem found in this release that would eventually 'break' the mod and make it unplayable. A new release will be out soon.
0.5.9 has been released. We're all very busy and are a bit behind on updating all release sites/pages.
Try resetting your profile first.
If it still doesn't work, do a fresh install of HW2, then add the mod.
v0.5.8 'date fix' release is out, just go to the sourceforge page to download. This happens every year. There is a part of the mod that cannot handle the date change of expiration, so a new release is done on the year.
you also need to download the windows source and use the osx files to 'patch' it.
Please stop spamming the same post. I gave you an answer before.
The RELEASE will expire then because there is a part of the mod that doesn't handle date changes of the year very well.
That means your computers graphics doesn't like the enhanced shader effects.
If you installed the folder (rar) version, go into the data folder and delete the shaders folder, or go into the game options and turn shadows off.
Both should have the same effect.
Crysis was released in November 2007. It is impossible for us to have been working on a game for 3 to 4 years that hasn't even been out for that long yet. We only decided to make a bsg mod for crysis about 2 years ago.
Show some patience.
Most of the mod team is extremely busy. I for one work 6 days a week, another member is very busy with studies and it is similar for most other members. Our free time is precious to us, we spend what we can on the mod(s).
We have been looking for new people with the right talents to help keep development moving along.
The HW2 mod is also easier to handle compared to the crysis mod because its much more mature in terms of development.
Hence the tweaked game settings just to show how the damage works. I did some simple volumetric calculations so the damage will be a lot more realistic based on distance between ships.
The ship I used there was Cloud Nine (was blown up from a nuke by one of the Sixes at the colonising of New Caprica).
saves no, game yes. If you dont want it to affect the original game, then its best to install a 2nd time for the mod if using the exe or rar version.
The big version wont affect the game but until 0.5.7 is out, there is no way to fix the bugs within the bigfile.
The files that need editing to fix the problems are located here once its been installed.
Data/ship/Tanis_Civy4.ship
Data/ship/Tanis_Civy5.ship
Any text editing program will work. About 5-10 lines from the top, you will see a line similar to this. This is also what that line needs to be for both files.
LoadSharedModel (NewShipType,"hur_civ_virgonexpress")
(Moddb forced me to use a space after LoadSharedModel but there must be no spaces in that line)
The other file that needs changing is located here:
Data/leveldata/multiplayer/deathmatch/6P - Solarsystem 1.level
Look for the line that is: function DetermChunk()
Then somewhere underneath that, there are a series of lines that start something like this: addSquadron("ss_moon2", "moon4", .....
All the moon lines are missing a "ss_" so they need the 2nd part changed to look like this: addSquadron("ss_moon2", "ss_moon4", .....
you can either download the big file, exe installer or the rar version.
At the moment, I would suggest either downloading the exe installer or rar version because 1 or 2 small bugs managed to slip through that were causing some crashes (fixed for when 0.5.7 is released).
By downloading one of those versions (exe installer or rar), you can manually fix the problem files.
You must own a copy Homeworld 2 for the mod to work. From what I've heard, yes it does work on Windows 7.
