Duck Hunt-The Legendary Nintendo’s Retro Game

saso77 Blog

Duck Hunt is the most representative game for Nintendo
Zapper and one of the most popular NES games ever, and therefore she is still
secured with cult status through references in numerous films, TV series,
magazines and other kids games.

Duck Hunt the game

First appearance in
the market game has experienced in 1984 in Japan, and a year later sailed on American
soil where she gained unprecedented popularity and made a good foundation for
sale in Europe that began 1987. Whatever their release date, Duck Hunt was
equally accepted and popular in all countries of the world, and the fact that
it was the only game in fully functional with Nintendo Zapper ensure her a good
sale.

The concept of
playing was very simple – with the Zapper target the duck and after ten
affected ducks you secure the passage to the next level. The challenge was adopted
just the way to children's reflexes and it was easy to get used to the
functionality of the Nintendo Zapper, and the game could be played with a
friend who ran ducks with the standard NES controller. The levels went up to
the number 99, followed by a lethal level 0 that was designed to limit the
further progress of players when he made a mistake in the game. It was the end
of the game, which was not too bothered to the popularity of Duck Hunt, title that
even today by choice of many renowned magazines and portals holds a high place
on the list of the best games for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Downloadable titles - the lungs of the games industry

saso77 Blog

Thanks to the smaller, digitally distributed titles, video game industry "breathe" more freely than ever, and there is an interesting situation before the change of the console generation.

Given the fact that we will soon have to send off another generation of consoles, and thus in some way another generation of great cool games, it can be noted
that in the last three years has been the growth and decline of the importance of certain categories.

For example, music games are now a genre of the past, while elements of sandbox games are becoming standard (especially if you ask Ubisoft). But most importantly, I realized growth in the category of digital distribution of games, so
important that I can declare as the most important segment of progress in the video
games industry. True, i still stand by the fact that the popularization of network multiplayer carries enormous significance on the basis of which the Call of Duty and Battlefield series, for example, each year are turning lucrative figures.

However, in a broader view digital distribution industry opens up more options, not just those for mere profit.

Specifically, based on digital distribution, was launched one "new" whole industry. I put new in quotes because it was formed in the early years, primarily on the PC, and later on consoles with the coming of online services with which today we take the whole game. What once represented shareware games on PC today are download (able) titles for Steam,GOG.com, PSN, Xbox Live Arcade, Nintendo
eShop / Virtual Console and other digital platforms. But that whole is novelty
because it offered the whole gamer audience what previously did not exist in the right shape - price diversity among categories of games.

Before you for an ordinary arcade game practically have to pay the same as paying for a fully fledged big-title. Games are usually held their prices unchanged until they sold a certain number of copies and received platinum, and that price has always been pretty high and rarely falling below half the value of today's games (50-60 dollars). Of course, I'm talking here about new games, and those would then be only found in sales.

Today it is not like that, and the games are moving at the price of two dollars up to
sixty or more dollars. Of course, the categories download title is "lower" and usually stops at the border of some $ 25. But lower definitely does not mean less quality, on what we've been convinced through the past few years with titles such as Braid, Bastion, Mark of the Ninja or Journey.
Thanks to this flexibility of prices video game industry is now in a really interesting situation,a situation that is much different than that in previous console generations. Therefore, the importance of digital distribution is on the unstoppable rise, and all participants in the chain of interactive entertainment are winners.
Simply put, the video game industry with the download titles operates much healthier and breathe more freely than ever.

Of course, not all those titles for downloading are good quality. However, the nature of these titles (especially indie games) is that you will be surprised rather than disappointed. In any case, the practice is somewhat different than the
big budget games, and this diversity is also welcome to the industry.

Bearing in mind the broad approach of developers to download-only games (some may be episodic,retro-oriented, and some are on the graphics level AAA titles only with less content) will be interesting to see what will come in this
field
in the coming years. Kickstarter has proven to be a promising opportunity for serious projects, but now that Sony,Nintendo and Microsoft have realized the importance of this category of games and with certain benefits convenience in the development of independent developers, the question arises whether the download titles will soon be a real competition to higher priced games.
