This week's been a good one! Although I haven't had a lot of free time on my hands to compose, there have been lots of great feedback on my work for Alchemilla Mod. Three tracks have been released so far. It's great to see that people are getting the Silent Hill feeling from it.
For those of you that don't know, Alchemilla is a mod based on the Silent Hill universe. The team's goal is to recreate the original atmosphere from the earlier Silent Hill titles. Me being a huge Silent Hill fan, and Akira Yamaoka's work with it, I just had to jump in on this project. I had already listened to all of the SH OSTs countless times, so I knew what was expected of me.
I've been playing through Silent Hill Downpour for the last few weeks. I'm a real scaredy cat, so I'm loving it so far. Although Daniel Licht's work is good, I miss the old school SH vibe which Yamaoka's soundtrack had. It's a great horror title, but it doesn't really feel like SH anymore. So I guess you could say I consider my work for Alchemilla a way to prove to people that although Yamaoka's a genius, there are more people who can get the sound right.
Anyway, be sure to track Alchemilla Mod , because it's going to be huge!
