YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH! FINALLY BEAT THE FIRST BOSS!

The trick is to stand at the edge and jump in place right before he gets there - if you time it right, he'll get caught on the edge for a bit then start rushing in the opposite direction right before you land, giving you ample time to jump over him again and again until he eventually slides past you to his death!

Nope, this time it gave me a "stopped responding" message. I'll just play through again and see if I can beat him this time around.

I see you implemented some of those suggestions to the latest version, but unfortunately it's still not updating for me... :(

I'm going to try re-installing the game and see if that'll give me the latest version. I may have to replay the game up to the boss, but I don't mind that too much... especially if it resets the death counter! :)

(Sorry for the triple-post, but it won't let me edit the first two comments... which I only broke up because of the 2000-character limit. Maybe I should've just written a review, but that would've required me to play through the whole game and... ugh, so many little complications...)

Looking back, I hope my feedback didn't come across as too harsh. I was a bit frustrated at the time, but I really do think this is a nice, simple, challenging game, it just has a few rough aspects to it that can be polished/ironed out.

Suggestions:
- Tone down the first boss' difficulty by slowing him down a tiny bit or removing the falling rocks. Or both. Alternatively, implement multiple difficulty modes or dynamic difficulty -- make him subtly easier if the player dies too much.
- Either more frequent checkpoints, or move the existing ones closer to the tough segments. When I die at a tough, intense segment I want to restart at the beginning or partway through the segment, not inside a featureless hallway that takes several seconds to walk through... it may be foreboding the first time around, but by the 20th attempt it's just unnecessary tedium.
- Add a greater variety of death messages. I've seen "Brain over brawn", "That's unfortunate" and "Don't try to outrun him" way too many times. Google "Have a nice death", the first result may help give you some ideas.

BOOOOXXXXX DRAAAAAGOOOOOONNNNNN

Seriously, that thing is ridiculous. It requires inhuman reflexes to maneuver around and when you think you've almost got it under control BAM! ROCK TO THE FACE. Then I go through the death sequence, restart all the way back in that hall... I've managed to get to the third phase a few times, but I just can't react quickly enough to keep avoiding him, and those boulders aren't helping!

What I've played so far was pretty cool, and the rest of the game looks interesting based on what you've shown in the trailer. I'm particularly curious about that cat and the princess, but with that steep difficulty curve I don't see myself making any progress anytime soon so I'm not feeling very motivated to continue right now... I'll try again later this weekend or sometime next week.

I recognize most of the music I've heard so far, but it all works pretty well and they're all favorites of mine so I'm cool with it. The trailer song is bugging me though, I know I've heard it before but I can't quite remember where... Atelier? Ar Tonelico? Some random NIS game?
