Update: Turns out I installed an older version (oopsie). I installed the latest one, followed the instructions, and now the game launches and there's a black screen for 2-3 seconds and then it closes, at first I got a "No permission to run ep2" error, but I fixed that and the game still launches and closes after 3 seconds.

I got this for Episode 2, I followed the instructions and the game opened, got to the main menu and it was just the normal vanilla game, no new textures or anything. Did I do something wrong?

I have a cracked version of Half life 2 but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I installed it, put it in my folder and I started up the game, the SMOD stuff showed up there, all's great. I bind the SMOD keyboard stuff (kick, etc.) and it doesn't work. I gave myself all the weapons, and there were only the vanilla weapons there, what's the problem?

Someone help me i cannot get any mod and how coud you guys play al the mods while i can't play any?
