Report RSS Now Valve's Steam is in the Frame!

I think I've over-stayed my welcome here on Moddb. No no.. I don't mean that I'm leaving. My mind isn't in the right place. The thing is.... Moddb.com is what it is. It's a database for mods. Then Valve's Steam comes along and tells the world 'Yay, let's market mods, that's what we want!' My previous project, Salvage Storm was just 'hey, why hasn't anyone made a total conversion project for Unreal/Unreal Gold! after all these years'. It is what it is! That's how I had the energy to make the mod and put it on there. Well that space is filled and nothing more. That's where all my energy went and it was easy to get it out there because of the tools presented by Moddb.com

It doesn't mean I'll leave Moddb.com. It's just updates are going to take a lot longer then I would expect. Moddb is here. Even if it were easy for me to post news and roll out updates and files, that's just a different story. Anyone can put stuff for anyone to download and etc. Moddb will always be the place. The good news with Moddb. I can put all of information here which anyone could access. I don't have a blog or space to give anyone that like a place like Steam and this would be the prefect place to present all of that.

The thoughts I have is more like who gets what? There's two places to put files, one of moddb.com and another on Steam but there's only one place where I would put down the know-how and discuss what people would see and notice in why mods are so great and why some are crap or a milestone (if I am confident with what I would be saying) and it's moddb.com. That's why I'm trying to filter out and channel the right stuff in my mind and put them in the correct place. Having dumped that thought on here... why would anyone want to design to market quality mods? That's the question I'm asking myself! (other then the gateway to money!).
