Thanks for the reply, DaveW. I did actually find that renderer a bit later and am using it now. It's a bit better, but not quite enough. I posted more on the forum: Offtopicproductions.com

I have New Vision working great with HTDP using the OpenGL renderer since I'm playing it in a wineskin wrapper on Max OS X, meaning it's essentially running on Windows XP. So no DX10 for me :(

I have a problem I can't seem to solve on my own: with the OpenGL renderer, the lighting is extremely dark; so dark I find myself having to use my light aug all the time. I would like to increase the brightness but cannot seem to manage it. The game's brightness level preference doesn't change anything. If I enter the advanced preferences panel, I can change the "gammaOffset" value in the OpenGL renderer section, but this too does nothing. I know that changing other values in this panel works since I can turn on and off "coronas" and verify that this has an immediate in-game effect.

Thoughts?
