Combat in this mod is definitely a challenge, but ammunition management is less of a problem if you use an engine limit which allows you to stand on top of zombie's heads without them harming you or escaping. I could club maybe 80% of them this way with the pipe, due to the presence of many ladders, fences, ramps and tables. Also know that the revolver against the grunts is one shot one kill, exposing you far less to the significant staggering and knockback when being shot at by them.
One time I had difficulties finding the exit. Maps are big and mazelike. I think the focus was gameplay and ambience a lot more than realism/functionality. Anyway, you can tell a lot of effort went into the design. Graphics are a feast. Textures and new HD models are nice.
Played on medium difficulty and didn't lack ammo or health. Puzzles are satisfying to solve. God did I search that code on the train level.
