PR:Z aka Project Reality - Zombie Apocalypse Survival Minimod - Lead Developer
Thank you for considering the name change.
I think that "Project Zombie Strike" or simply "Zombie Strike" would be quite fitting as you have been using that name for your Dev Team already. I do not think that your current fans would be confused by the name change if you use something similar to what is being used right now, except for not using the word "Reality" in it. It's not like it is copyrighted or anything but that is the main reason for the confusion between names and projects.
Thank you for the effort. Hope it gets done.
If there was a older version of "Project Zombie Reality" before you launched this 2014 one, it's not on moddb and the oldest information about this one is from 2014. "Ideas" don't count... only accomplishments do.
For your information PR:Z is from 2012 not 2014 and either way using "Reality" in a Zombie related mod makes no sense whatsoever. That is unless if it is a minimod for Project Reality which yours is not. So perhaps you can enlighten me why you chose such a name?
As it stands it pretty much sounds like a rip-off. Even though I don't really care much about gathering new players through moddb as PR:Z is "mostly" for PR players. I simply dislike the confusion that will most definitely bring for players who read about one and end up playing the other one.
If the choice of the name wasn't done trying to "copy" PR:Z then it is an unfortunate coincidence in which case, courtesy goes a long way. Changing the name would only be problematic if you had a big player-base and unless if I'm wrong, you don't. Unlike you, I can't really change mine as it is a Project Reality minimod and as such it has to include that in the name.
I just found this mod... quite disappointing.
You guys really couldn't come up with a better name? Or is it intended to create confusion with the existing Project Reality: Zombie minimod to gain players?
I guess that if you would have called it Project Zombie it wouldn't be a big deal, but why in the hell would you call it Project Zombie "Reality"?
PR-Z is a minimod for the well know mod Project Reality, yours afaik has nothing to do it so it really makes absolutely no sense to use a name already in use even if you change the sequence of the words... next time be a bit more creative will you?!
But as far as I noticed you guys work on every single mod that comes to mind, at the same time and never really finish anything properly. I'm sure that at least you have fun modding them and being among the very few playing them.
Local hosting requires our python code which we do not wish to share as communities would organize events with it without our approval.
Not only that but the minimod was never planned to be played alone on "single-player".
If the minimod is ever completed and has regular events, there will be some organized on US servers. However, we don't have the man-power to do that at this moment.
Not Dead and currently being developed again.
Check under Co-Operative!
Again, if you had bothered reading the FAQ, you would know that PR:Z is for multi-player only at this moment. So you are not able to respawn on local/SP.
Go read the information on this site before writing down a question please.
As the message says. put the CP in the battlefield2/mods/pr folder before running it... it's not rocket science!
It was working before, guess it bugged with my update. It's working again now.
You will need both BF2 and PR to be able to play this minimod. As it is stated on the main page.
We will only focus on SP if/when we're done with all the work for MP.
Yep, that's the idea. And I think it might work out or at least I hope so. We'll see how this week goes and figure out if the point system needs any adjustments.
Currently, it is equal to GMT.
You can find the PR Time on the PR's forum clock.
Survivors always spawn unarmed as it is mentioned on the main page info. So no, you do not get a pistol... that would be too easy.
Open beta should be on the 1st of February if we can fix the bugs by then.
Updated the list of values based on our most recent score settings.
It is similar in some regards, but the pvp is limited by humanity rules and you actually play as zombie too, unlike DayZ.
Yes, CO-OP is Multiplayer with bots, where the bots are usually only in the Opfor team. In this case, the zombie team.
Thanks, appreciate the support.
Check the description of the original video.
Most likely not. Playing it alone is not really that fun...
If we would make a SP version of it, it wouldn't have the same features and would not have the same game-play style you get on Co-Op. We will consider that option after the first release, but to be honest, we would have to make specific layers/gamemodes for SP because what we have is meant for Multiplayer Co-Op only.
PR is all about player interaction and teamwork, you simply don't get that in SP.
Thanks mate, we intend to improve it quite a bit more in the future, after the first release if we get a good active community playing it.
If you have issues on PR installation, there is a section of the PR forum for that. They will help you fix it.
Some... but not most.
Yep... that was the inspiration :p
This is a pretty obvious example of a question that is already answered on this page... look at the header!
As lots of questions here.. no-one bothers to read before asking.
Thanks mate. We will definitely need some luck in the future :)
Thanks, hope you continue to think so after you try it out.
It is Co-Op so yes it does have bot support, just not SP at the moment. The AI is used for extra opposition within the zombie team.
