Collecting My Thoughts

Marketing craziness! We hit 1st on ModDB yesterday, then quickly fell back to normalcy today. It was a nice morale boost. I'm taking a 5-day hiatus from marketing to work on a repathing POC video for the mod. After mapping it, I have to set up the nav mesh, then write out a script for our voice-over artist. Video production is the next step, with release set sometime week-after-next.

After that, I'm going to work on our servers for a couple days. I set up one probably 4 days ago, and another was donated 2 days ago by Samm, a community member. They need metamod installed and running correctly, a MOTD (which I'm hoping to hook up a news RSS feed to), a banner, and some sort of Admin priveledges for certain community members who help me run the L4D community games.

Um... what else? I dunno why I started this bloggy thing... I can't tell if people can read it. Whatever, I'll keep it updated with random rants while I collect my thoughts between mini projects. If you are reading this (for some perverted reason), thanks for supporting Deadlock. The community has been great so far!

Lots of work to be done!

Wow, so much is being done on the mod, it's crazy.

I spent most of the weekend devising a marketing strategy so we can start promoting this thing and getting people on board. Speaking of which, if anyone reading this knows a good 2d artist, PLEASE have them contact me posthaste. We really could use a concept artist.

On top of all this, I'm working diligently to build a system to make our maps dynamic in both form and lighting. With that comes the responsibility of keeping the Infected AI on paths that may or may not exist at a given time. Very frustrating really.

Anyway, if you're interested in project, please help support us! You can follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or on our forums at DEADLOCKMOD.com

Thanks all,
