Are these (turrets) just place holder models? Or are these the ones going to be used in the actual game?

I love modeling warhammer weapons too, very nice job on this. Very crisp and from only what I can see it looks very efficient too

as a constructive critique, (I play, the table top game, dawn of war 1&2 and am a 3D modeler) the neck extends straight into the head where the chin should be. Pull back the head towards the torso a bit more, and scale down the geometry used for the neck a bit. As others have stated, the classic ork is very bulky in the arms and upper body. Give him some more forearm and bicep mass. Also try to pull the lower jaw out and pull some tusks up. Orks tend to have extreme under bites.

The clothing is a bit off too. He looks like he is wearing ugs or something. Harder edged soles like the chaos and space marine boots would give a more realistic look. Also ears, even if just textured on instead of modeled would go a long way as well. I am not trying to sound condescending, nor am i complaining, merely giving a perspective view

nosm0ke is making a Warhammer 40K mod. It is still in the works though

- to your first suggestion bertshurmenburg, the scales and skins can be added in the texture, to have them directly on the already detailed models would be harder to do and the higher poly count will slow the game down.

love the models, keep doing what you're doing!

and for all the complainers: this guys his taking HIS time to make this game for everyone, he doesn't HAVE to do any of this. The fact is that he is, and that someone is making a 40K mod at all should give you cause to rejoice. There is a fine line between constructive criticism and complaining. If you don't like it, go learn 3D modeling and the SDK and make your own.

if you want to get into the nitty gritty lore of stuff, every space marine above the regular rank and file can customize their armor within the chapter/legion livery standards. If this guy wants spikes then he can put spikes on his armor. Think of them as pointy studs ;P
