Hi are you going to update your mod for the Knights of the Mediterean version?

This require the editing of 'export_descr_unit' file which is locate within the 'data' folder of the mod's folder (not the 'data' folder of the vanilla).

Once you find that file it's recommend to make a backup.

Then you open the file using notebook or something else.

If you want to play with units of other faction, find that unit, look at 'ownership' and write the name of your faction next to it

i.e: ownership gauls, slavs would be change to ownership gauls, slavs, thrace.

Be notice though the name showed in the file is the name of vanilla factions not mod's faction, so you may have to try it a bit.

If you want to change elephant's crews then you have to change 'soldier' category. However this may involve changing of other files.

Well... The mod go through several hands. Technically I'm the modder of this mod from the beginning along with Kirush who made most of the mod basis and Allevander who continued to help me when the former left. And finally I'm the last person left. Now the mod is technically no longer in development.

Anyway my willing and times ran out for the mod (I also lack modding skill and Rome I is a little old now) atm so the mod developing is more or less stop now and unfortunately it just reached the point of playable for custom battle.

Wow wow wow It's happening. Literally the best mod of DOW released the new version and just in times for many people who're in lockdown

My suggestion is reinstall your game anew and clean. Keep it as a clean game. Copy said folder and install mods on the new folders.

In your case. If you don't want to reinstall everything then I still suggest you to copy your current game with mods on it to another folder before delete the original one and reinstall your game

Well... make sure your vanilla is clean (unmodded) before you make your copy.

If you cannot play your vanilla BI then it's very possible that one of your mod had overwritten your vanilla and it could be the reason why you couldn't play Genghis Khan

press "`" then type "toggle_fow"

This's one of the cheatcodes of the game

Eh... It will very likely to work because you're essentially making another copy of RTW game so technically you will have 2 separated RTW programs in your computer

Yes I'm sure "Genghis Khan" mod is foldered because I'm running it along with several order mods as well. Anyway please make sure to not overwrite anything and follow the install instruction.

Still if the problem remain then... just make a fodder for it like what I said in previous post. Honestly I'm not working on the mod at the moment so I'm sorry for not be able to fix nor help people around much.

Firstly this problem is rather strange since the mod is supposed to be mod foldered and not interfere with either the main game nor other mod foldered mods. Also AFAK the LAA patch won't cause such problem. So may I ask what other mod(s) are you playing? Are they also mod foldered?

Anyway here's a quick solution. You just have to copy an unmodded Rome Total War game (the entire game folder)then install Genghis Khan into that new folder while install other mods in another game folder. This will solve all problems.

I am horribly sorry for my late reply. Anyway I hope late is better than never. So can you describe more clearly what happened? What files were missing?

Well it's seem I changed the foldder name to "MTW_v0.16_5-9-2016"

To fix it, simply change the name of the extracted foldder to "mongol" and follow all the instruction within READ ME.txt
