Again Sorry but im new to most of this, but can I just download the patch and have the full version? or do I need to download the full version and then the patch?

Hey, I'm trying to play this mod, it looks amazing, and I have the non steam version of warband 1.158 and everything ran fine until I tried to launch a new game, and it just stayed at the Launching Game screen for quite a while, so do I just need to install an older verison? or just wait a lil longer for the game to perhaps start? really looking forward to playing this mod looks awesomely done! I also went through the reviews and saw that others said they had no problems with the latest version. Any help appreciated.
