First no reference, not all models are made that way.
second everything on that model is textured you just can't see that so far. you could try and use the "view original" button , but i might change the white wood part of the handle to something more visible.
And third i don't care if it is your style or not. I model what i want when i want.
Anyway, it wasn't meant as a negative comment, as you probably know, it were merely some remarks I had at first sight.
I admire the way it's made, but I'd never make one like that myself (well, not now, never know what the future brings :p ).

After further examination, I came to the conclusion that darker wood (as you already suggested) and maybe a more "metallic" blade would do the trick ;)
