Star Wars Battlefront 2 - Xbox DLC Content for PC

Mod review

I remember myself as a kid in 2006 or 2007, seeing SWBF2 gameplay videos which featured the Xbox DLC maps and heroes. I really wished we had this content on PC.

Now, after all these years, we have finally received a port of the DLC content for PC, and it is as accurate to the Xbox version as possible. The mod brings 4 classic SWBF1 maps - Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Citadel, Rhen Var: Harbor, and Yavin 4: Arena - all in their Xbox DLC incarnations - to Battlefront 2. It also adds 2 new heroes - Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress - as well as (optionally) the Hero Assault mode to maps such as Coruscant or Naboo.

I believe there is no reason not to recommend this package - it adds a considerable amount of refreshing content to the game, its size is very small, and it blends really well with the 'vanilla' game. Big thanks to Iamashaymin, SleepKiller (and anyone else involved) for bringing this grail of Pandemic Studios to PC.

Visually-Improved Sides Mod

Mod review

A really decent mod for the game.

Despite the limitations of the first Battlefront, Giftheck managed to add an impressive number of improvements to the appearance of units and weapons, as well as change their sounds. What is more, there are three versions of the sound replacement portion of the mod, inspired by different sources, so you can choose the version which sounds the best for you.

I definitely recommend this mod.

Quake 2 Neural Upscale

Mod review

A pretty good texture pack. Some of the textures might be a bit grainy, but overall I like the way they look - they're definitely more high res than the original ones, yet they maintain the aesthetic of the originals.

BTW - I can confirm that these are compatible with KMQuake2 - what you have to do is rename the files so that the extension at the end of the name is not ".PKZ", but ".PK3".

Battlefront: The Clone Wars

Mod review

I love this mod. Since its release I'm still having fun playing it and it really does change the feel of the game. I like the new models, new looks for some of the maps, new gameplay and the new class setup. While what we got is already good enough, I'm still hoping for an update with more edits made to the maps and, perhaps, heroes as well the possibility to play as B1 Battle Droids.
