Sorry I'm clueless on this stuff, I saw on the SotP forum and it worked for me. I was stunned such a small change could affect the game in such a manner.

So is this download an older version of the most recent beta download? And someone mentioned pirates as Covenant, I haven't seen that yet. Finally, is there an expected price for the full version?

What I actually did was got rid of the patch1 part of the file name so it became "SOTP_UNSC_BETA" and that worked for me, the game stopped freezing and mini-dumping.

I had that problem, simply changing the file name from beta to something else that I saw on the Sins of the Prophets actual forum made it work for me. I'll look at the file.

I don't mean to sound impatient, but when might we expect covenant to be a playable race and enemy? I'd offer my services to help out, but my technical know-how is very limited. I'm only slowly learning the basics of computers now.

I take the "ships going down to easily" comment, I was playing it earlier and love the exciting combat filled with explosions everywhere haha. When might we expect to see the Covenant as playable faction or enemy faction?

Also worth mentioning, I couldn't get it to work without causing a minidump error until I changed the name of the file. I figured I'd throw that out there.

Wow, I have to say this is incredible. I love it so far, my only gripes are that ships go down a bit too easily, but much more easily than the regular game which takes forever. Also, the flood can commandeer a capital ship unfortunately. I can't wait to see the other factions and fight the covenant as the UNSC, but the beta just released is absolutely fantastic!
