If i was part of the ZeQ II team, i would continue making and finish up the mod off the radar and then under a different alias release the mod to as many gaming websites and unofficial sites as possible, put it on file sharing programs etc, there's no way funimation could stop that. Unless funimation or whoever shut them down has bought the project off them and are going to sell it commercially, or they've hired the zeq II team as game designers, either way, the mod might still come out, free or not :)
You can't just throw away years of work like that, something is bound to happen sometime...
