My friend Rob and I were ice fishing in Vermont in February of 2011, sitting out in the middle of Lake Emerald not catching anything. We got to talking about video games to pass the time and we came to the conclusion that there aren't enough ice fishing games in the world. I've spent much of my spare time in the past year developing "Tip-Up!". It is what ice fishing ought to be: fast and frantic nonstop action! Also included is the freezing weather, danger of falling through the ice, and those pesky game wardens... So please go ahead and download it for free off indiedb.com or moddb.com. I guarantee you'll catch something other than a cold this time.

I'm impressed by your level design. Your placement of obstacles and enemies is very challenging. I wasn't too disheartened by my many deaths because I felt that I had only myself to blame, except for the occassional hidden falling spike. I also admire the variety and detail of your background images. The music compliments the graphics well. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comment! You make a good point about the extra bonus beer cans. The game becomes much harder when you run out of beer cans, so I wanted to randomly reward the player. However, like you said, it can also randomly punish the player who has a full set. I'll be sure to address it in the next version.

In Tip-Up! rev 2 are the following updates:

-Eliminated the strange cloud shadows.
-Combined the small fish and large fish scores into one score, making it easier to track the catch 10 bonus.
-Added the current high score to the bottom of the screen.
-Fixed the bug that would sometimes prevent the storm clouds from appearing.

Hello all,

I joined recently in hopes of finding some good people to test my game and provide me with some feedback. My game is titled "Tip-Up!", and you can find it on indiedb.com. It is an ice fishing themed puzzle game. I created the game by myself and it is my first one. My friends seem to like it, but what I really need is an unbiased opinion of somebody who isn't afraid to tell me if its really crap or not. I'm eager to hear suggestions for improvements.
