Unfortunately, we haven't released a public version yet. You can download source code from GitHub and build it on your own though.

As for the research, the current plan is to have it automatic in the "classic" mode, which should be as similar to the original game as possible (with as few new features as possible). In a so called "enhanced" mode, where all new features will be available, the research is going to be manual and yes, it's going to cost cash.

OpenE2140 does not require OpenRA installed beforehand. It is based on it, more specifically it uses its engine. This means OpenRA is distributed alongside of OpenE2140. It is different from other games, where mods require base game installed.

But you're free to install OpenRA and play it, if you want :-) It is free, you don't need to buy Red Alert 1, Tiberian Dawn nor Tiberian Sun, because they were released as freeware by EA long time ago.

Yes, the manual does not match with the gameplay in many cases.

And yes, we do plan on rebalancing units, buildings, etc.

Thanks a lot. Actually, the team is quite "large" for such project. It has 5 members: 3 programmers, 1 dedicated 3D artist, 1 artist/YAML expert.

More stuff is incoming, stay tuned!

Thanks. Re-implementing all SP missions depends on proper AI (which I agree, *will* be a challenge), importing maps themselves (i.e. terrain, unit/building placement, ore fields, etc.) and triggers for the mission logic. We'll use some sort of semi-automated process for both importing maps and mission logic, so once we'll have proper AI in place, it shouldn't take too long to get all SP missions working.

Hello, thanks for taking an interest in OpenE2140. Yes, not only we plan on fully implementing AI for both singleplayer and multiplayer, we are going to fully port all singleplayer missions from base game, Mission Pack 1 & 2! We're currently far from that as we're still implementing core game mechanics. Join us at Discord (invite is in the mod description) for more updates!
