Befitting the US military's new doctrine of rapid deployability with little reliance on forward bases or permanent infrastructure, field command and control functions have been consolidated in the Coyote C4ISTAR vehicle. Large, heavily armoured and equipped with advanced computers and communications systems for commanders from the company level upwards, it performs all the functions of a conventional static command centre, such as radar and tactical support requests. For its own protection, it is armed with a short range particle beam weapon and point defence lasers, capable of defeating incoming projectiles and enemy personnel. It can also requisition up to four Doberman UGVs, large tank-like drones that can act as heavy protection for the Coyote itself or support other forces in combat.

Given the necessary clearance by a General, the Coyote can be improved with a variety of additional functions. Orbital Support equips it a laser designator capable of marking entire areas for saturation fire and advanced stealth detection. Close Air Support equips it with a Targeteer Drone and an improved defensive laser. Naval Support allows it to call in fire support from US Navy vessels in theatre and improves its weapon. Beyond that, it also benefits from common upgrades for its protection and mobility.
