Hi, everyone!
Thanks for Armada 3 guys, it's a great game! But my heart sank when I heard you saying it will be the last patch and dev diary :( I'll miss them.
And sorry if I missed it, but is there a website or anything like that about Axanar? I know about the movie, but not about the game you're making.
Thanks for all your hard work!

P.S. Hi, Mia!

Awesome! I've spent the whole day playing it!
As it is now, I'm sure it can easily be published as a separate game, not a mod. Fantastic job!

Buuuuut.... there are a couple of "things" (as I can't decide what to call them).
So where can we (can we?) write our thoughts/suggestions?

I'm soooooo waiting for the release. It's looking really great.
From the bottom of my heart - I THANK YOU!!!

p.s. Is it just me or do screenshots change too fast in the video? As much as I'd like to, I'm not able to watch it fully because my eyes start to hurt. Transitions from to dark to light screenshots or vice versa are really taxing my eyes.

I've been waiting for this dev diary with terror and awe.
As for awe - the borg are absolutely magnificent. Those slow ponderous shapes of destruction hypnotize. I salute your modelers, they are geniuses. And all that new stuff is just super fun and super cool.

As for terror - call me a pessimist, but from this dev diary I think borg became even more OP. Their abilities and damage output are just way too powerful. In 1.0 you could at least outrun the borg, but with so many speed reduction abilities, this is hardly an option. Buffs are also extremely powerful (especially those with +armor and +damage reduction), coupled with massive debuffs to the enemy, the chances of winning a fleet-on-fleet (1vs1) engagement are pretty slim. And for dessert - I've noticed several +hull repair buffs. Do they stack? Science, progenitor, couple of capitals' abilities and even assimilators. Just for teh lulz - how many % of hull repair can you get? Wouldn't, in perfect scenario, a cube's "healing" be higher than all the punishment an enemy can unleash?

I'm sorry if all of these thought are, in fact, junk, but I can't get away from the feeling that I won't be playing borg or playing against them, because the game would lose its meaning :( I really hope I'm just wrong. You guys are doing excellent job! We all appreciate it!

P.S. Just a quick question. Players and smart AIs focus fire capital ships first, and borgs with their ultra-powerful weapons can smash them really fast. Needless to say that a fleet of 200 cruisers can't do much without the help from capital ships' abilities. Perhaps their dps/HPs and other stuff are balanced in 1000-iterations-cycle, but in every single combat, the borg have an advantage because they can quickly deny their enemy his advantage. Am I misunderstanding something? Because, its what makes borg so OP - very high damage output. And by the time reinforcements get from the shipyards to where all the fun is, the fun is gone.

Hey guys, great dev diary as always!
I'm soooo looking forward to playing CTA.
But I have a question about game mechanics: how do photon torpedoes differ from quantum torpedoes in the game? You have mentioned that people don't understand how weapon damage works, and I am one of those people.
On most (if not all) ships with quantum torpedoes they deal less damage than photon torpedoes. Why? Isn't quantums the upgraded and more powerful versions of photons? Or do they ignore shields? What's their specialty?
I (and I think not only me) would enjoy some clarification about this, and maybe about weapons in general. Like a phaser damage of 50 does 50 damage per shot or per second of firing? Same about pulse weapons.
Perhaps, if you have time, you can make a small dev diary about it? Pretty please :)

Anyway, thanks a LOT for all your hard work. This game is amazing!

I had some thoughts about Klingon Titan:
1. Reduce its cost.
2. Reduce its blast radius by 50% (or maybe even 75% or more)
3. Buff its damage to 100k.
4. Buff shields and HPs

What it will do:
Right now, races, other than Borg, suffer too much from it. KT just warps in and there is no time to react and move ships away from it. No brains needed, but reducing its radius will make players (myself included) think before detonating it. As for increasing its damage to 100k - Feds, Klingon, Romulan won't notice a difference - they all get obliterated by it even now, but Borg ACs will start to fear it.
And to counter reduced blast radius, KTs should be a little more durable. During the game's final stages KT can get easily destroyed by a couple of medium frigates, and its really annoying to detonate it prematurely while it is heading somewhere.

I've played about 20-25 games now and, honestly, I don't see Borg as balanced. The general tactic against Borg - rush them during the early game. But, if for some reason you can't eliminate all Borg within an hour or so - the game is done. There is absolutely no way to destroy several cubes at once. Romulan and Fed Titans are completely outmatched. And Klingon Titan is worthless against lvl10 ACs. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I can't think of anything to take out 3-4 lvl10 AC (20k shields and 20k HP with almost 2k DPS).
In my last game (which I played specifically to test my skills against Borg) during the final battle, when I was completely capped at everything (Klingons, max capital ships lvl10, max cruisers and frigates), but 5 ACs demolished this fleet like it was nothing. I managed to take out only 1(!) out of 5(!) ACs with the best fleet I could create.
I, honestly, understand the fun to play as Borg and just "roll over them" with these Death Stars, but the game looses its meaning for other races. I can't see myself playing anything else (if I play to win) other than Borg.

IMHO, Borg should be rebalanced - ACs tuned down or perhaps limited to 1-2 per game (like Titans). BTW, don't understand why you can have 1 squishy Titan, but several OPed ACs. If I could create 3-4 Klingon Titans, than I could take out cubes in 1 major battle. Expensive, but efficient.
Also, while the general idea of Klingon Titan is awesome, the cost for a one-time-use only-one-at-a-time ship is way higher than it should be.

P.S. Many thanks to this release! Looks great!
