Nice video, although the battle with the evil queen present was a bit too dramatic for my taste.
I bought the alpha release from Desura. Hope to see more content soon.

Very cool. This game is really starting to take shape.

Nice work!
For me having females in sword-battles kills most realism. Whatever the skills, their physical strength is insufficent for serious sword-fight with a men with even moderate skills. So any female character, unless seriously handicapped, will be a superhuman.
I tried:
wget Lauris.kaplinski.com (use the link target - comments are abbreviated automatically)
gunzip Shinya-preview-20120413.tar.gz
tar xvfp Shinya-preview-20120413.tar.gz
And it worked for me :-/
Can you try to redownload it? I tested and it worked for me.
The file size should be exactly 42 371 616 bytes.
Also I have messed up something so it is tarred twice, but otherwise seems ok.
Looks really beautiful!
I'd only suggest making the character face more "japanish" (maybe some hybrid between ukiyo-e and modern aestetics) - at moment it looks like pop-art.
Hmm - seems pretty interesting :-)
Now you have triggered my curiosity :) - tracking
She is quite addictive sometimes, yes ;-)
I still haven't decided a proper dress for her. Everything medieval should be long - but it would be pain to animate and would hinder her running.
I like the overall tonality but the structures - both inside and outside - are a bit too low contrast to my taste. Maybe a bit more agressive lightmapping or dirtmapping?
I love the concept of your game! Keep going!
