1) Install "Bronze Age"
2) Extract patch (instructions inside archive)
3) Extract english fix (instructions inside archive)
4) Go in Rome Total War directory.
5) Find folder called "bronze"
6) Copy "bronze" folder to Rome Total War/Barbarian Invasion directory (called "bi"). Or if mod installed into "bi" folder, copy "bronze" to main Rome Total War directory.
7) Open Steam, select and right-click Rome: Total War Gold, go to Properties. Under the General tab, click on Set launch options, and copy-paste this text into the field: -nm -show_err -mod:bi\bronze
Now whenever you launch Barbarian Invasion, you should get to play this mod.

Copy bronze folder to BI sub-folder. YES! You must have two copies of this mod in different folders. Looks like that:
C:/.../Rome Total War/bronze
C:/.../Rome Total War/bi/bronze

Open Steam, select and right-click Rome: Total War Gold, go to Properties. Under the General tab, click on Set launch options, and copy-paste this text into the field: -nm -show_err -mod:bi\bronze

Now whenever you launch Barbarian Invasion, you should get to play this mod.

Random crashes is normal in this mod, because development has abandoned in most interesting moment. Mod released in a hurry with a lot of bugs and not completed things.

This mod fully in hands of community, you may solve this problem and release 1.6.1 Steam-friendly patch.
I'm not a modder or active player, and just haven't any skills for doing that.

well.. you may download this mod in archive and manually unpack him into your Rome - Total War folder: Goo.gl (patch and fix included)
after unpacking make a copy of your Barbarian Invasion shortcut, then go to shrtcut properties and write in the target field this (without quotes): " -mod:bronze -nm -show_err", accept and play.

i'm completely forgot about prefix "bi" in command line, in common non-Steam game this pref. not needed because shortcut contains path to BI executable file..

This mod doesn't work correctly with Steam-version of the game..
In your case, Steam tries to launch Bronze Age with using Classic Rome executable file and some things like hordes or nomad cultures doesn't support by classic engine and game goes to crash..
For correct work needs forcing Steam to launch mod with Barbarian Invasion executable file.
I don't have Steam and I don't know how make this.

mod have critical issue (i don't know how fix it), when one of the cities on map moves from one country to another, in result of rebelling, sometimes game crashes.
try save game before this issue happening and load after every crash, I did it to skip this crash point and continuing playing (it can take a long time), but i don't guarantee fine result

Rome TW has restrictions on the number of factions, and perhaps authors decided that there are already enough factions in this region

maybe vessels of that period couldn't go to the open sea or their crew don't have skills to guide ship without seeing the coasts
