i had the same issue, i installed via steam workshop and that seemed to fix the issue

first of all i wanna say thanks for this mod dude its awesome but ive had a few problems mainly

1) at the begining when im attacked by the first bandits after i kill them nothing happens

2)if i just let them kill me i get saved by the merchant (of edinburgh in this case) i go recruit my 5 guys, return to tavern and hes not there ive just kept playinf n im on day 57 but still no merchant?
