You should make sure the game executable name is BfVietnam.exe when running the game. Also make sure there are no compatibility options set in BfVietnam.exe, right click, properties, Compatibility tab.

Also, for audio fix I recommend using Moddb.com instead of using Windows NT compatibility.

Btw, if you start running game without compatibility mode, you might need to register cd key again via eReg\Battlefield Vietnam_code.exe and make sure that Battlefield Vietnam_code.exe is also not running under compatibility mode.
