Mortal online is a special kind of MMO. It has no usefull tutorial and you literally cannot do anything without gold. Other players can rob you so you can be forced to make a new character that way. The playerbase will oftenly tell you it's "teaching you a lesson". They really dont seem to realize that their active hostility to anyone new has put of having a thrice as large playerbase.
This means the game never really did grow. The land mass isnt as big as people would want, as I heard you can cross it in a very short time. None of the other features seem to truly inspire or rejuvinate the genre either.
In summary: The game looks okay, is incredibly lacking in tutorial (player or official), is probably the most hostile mmo to new players. The landmass is small and players are genuine cuntbags.
If you are not masochistic, stay clear from this. If you think games like FTL or other Roguelikes are too easy then this might be something for you!
Edit: If you like the concept of this game but are put off by the resident playerbase, try looking at ToA. It's not finished yet; hell, not even in full production, but it's looking to become a good version of Mortal Online, and the present community is extremely newbie friendly. Just an afterthought.
