Hey!
The mod works great but I encountered a weird bug. I was playing as Germany, and forced Brest-Litovsk peace on Russia. When the civil war in Russia started for some reason Russian Empire got Bhutan, Nepal and Yunnan province from China. Interestingly, Bhutan and Nepal still "exist" because they are called in to wars with me.

And one more thing - IMO the Russian Focus tree needs a little rework. When I was playing as Russia I could not get rid of the National spirit "Ghosts of 1905" because the focus which is getting rid of it was locked behind a focus tied to Bulgaria being in faction with Germany - which never happened. So I basically accidentally conquered and annexed nearly all of Central Powers (including Turkey) and couldn't get rid of that "Ghosts..." penalty.

Great to see "minors" being more unique.
What other minor nations are you planning to make more interesting and in depth?

This article is a good idea ;)
Also very happy to see the mod ready to download.
As I was playing it I was thinking about the "fascist" Czechoslovakia.
The flag you added and the name all are good and historically correct - Protectorate was "fascist" and all that. But as far as game logic and gameplay goes this does not add up.
First of all, leader, Radola Gajda (a.k.a. Rudolf Geidl) could be leader of "fascist" Czechoslovakia, but never a leader of Protectorate. IRL he helped partisans during occupation and wanted to defend in the Sudetenland.
Secondly, a player who would go down the "fascist" route will expand, and be aggressive - and Protectorate was basically an passive, industrial province of III Reich.
And last but not least, player would be independent and would not like to think of himself as of tiny German lapdog ;)

So, here's my idea. Leave Gajda as a leader. He was very interesting person, and could be a leader of a state. Things that need to change are name and the flag. The name should be something like "Czechoslovak National State", "Czech National State" or "Bohemian National State" (leaving the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia could be justified by the fact that Slovaks didn't really support NOF).
The flag could be a little bit tricky, because I didn't find any official emblem of NOF. Still there are couple of way to create a new, fascist flag.
1. Add a fasci to the triangle on the flag. NOF was heavily influenced by Italian fascists and was using fasci as one of their symbols, so it would be logical: Ceskatelevize.cz
2. Go with the Czechoslovak legion flag design. As in every "fascist" movement there were quite a lot of veterans in NOF, and since Czechoslovak legion was fighting communism referring to it is logical. The design on the right looks brilliant to me: En.wikipedia.org /wiki/Czechoslovak_Legion#/ media/File:Darney,_památník,_legionáři.JPG
EDIT: Something is messing with the wiki link, you need to copy it manually and remove the space.

Oh, timeline going all the way up to 1940s? :D
So this mod will be merged with the "normal" HoI4 gameplay, not "standalone" WWI mod? It would be awesome.

This would make some very interesting possibilities available, but still, an event tied to the outcome of the war (and maybe some national foci?) could be cool and would help with keeping tied to actual history.
Good idea though, cheers!

Hello there!
I have some questions about the timeline and events (especially revolutions and emergent factions).
To what year will you stretch the timeline? Since vanilla HoI4 goes up to the beginning of the '50, would you stretch the timeline up to couple of years after the Great War?
IMO it would be nice and interesting to stretch to about 1922-1924. It would be cool to include not only events such as the revolution and civil war in Russia but also things like Soviet-Polish war of 1920 (and emergence of Poland, Czechoslovakia and other Central European countries in that matter), revolutionary conflicts in Germany (like revolution in Bavaria in 1919) or conflict based around Silesia (Silesia uprisings in the beginning of the interwar period). Of course some triggers would be needed for it (tied to Germany losing the war maybe?).
Anyway, thanks for answering my questions.
If anything, would like to help with the mod if possible (especially with writing texts for events, ideas for focus tree and such things).
Cheers!

No problem. Glad to be of help, love to get involved in making HoI4 a proper historical game.

PM me if you need anything, I have couple of ideas for focus tree (though I need to put some more thought into it).

Keep up the good work, can't wait to test the mod! :D

Any of these could be of any help?
Tancik vz. 33:
Orig13.deviantart.net (need to remove the cross :p )
Tanks-encyclopedia.com (guess Slovak cross wouldn't be so bad)

Fronta.cz
LT vz. 34:
Aviarmor.net
Aviarmor.net
ST 39:
S8.postimg.org
Orig00.deviantart.net
Mmowg.net

And I saw this lil thing from WoT, could be of use in "inventing" hypothetical later tanks (more info after clicking on minature; some interesting Skoda and Tatra prototypes, although I don't know how accurate they are):
Pipboy.wtz.cz

Hope this helps :)

Still research is all about design, not production, so I think moving those tanks up would be reasonable ;)
And instead of armored cars there are tankette Tančík vz. 33 or LT vz. 34(for '34 tech), then vz. 35 (for '36) and last light tank would be vz. 38.
For first medium one I found this one: En.wikipedia.org
Could be cool.
Then I guess, enter imagination.
What tanks did you put for heavies? It would be cool to "invent" some multi-turret monstrosity for the first one - or something like German Grosstraktors :D
EDIT: And since the light tanks would be quite late in research, maybe there could be some discounts on tank research in the focus tree?

Cool to have awesome Czech tanks, but don't you think that vz. 35 and vz. 38 should be moved up (to 34 and 36 tech accordingly)? All in all they were light tanks, and putting armored class in their place doesn't seem fair. Czechs should have better tanks early.
And don't fear about the later designs, there surely are some prototypes out there which can be implemented into the game (like in Polish tech tree).

Cheers, keep up the great work!

Great work, love the mod, but one thing bothers me a bit - the American flags.

Did you based them on something existing in reality or just invented them?

And here my opinion - though I love the other flags you made, the American ones feels bit off to me.
The fascist one (unless it's based on some real thing) is very weird, because nationalistic movement would probably not resign from "stars and stripes" template - it would be certainly modified, but would be IMO still there. And if we must abandon this template why not use Silver Legion flag (silver with red L in the corner)? They are the "fascist" party for the US in the game. Maybe work their emblem into the flag somehow? Here's the SS flag:
Img07.deviantart.net
The neutral one is very interesting, would love to hear more about thought process/historical background in making that one. Though, since the "non-aligned" option in the game is basically new Confederate States of America, wouldn't the flag be more like the classic CSA "stars and bars"?
En.wikipedia.org

And the communist flag on the other hand I really like. Feels like something a commies would do to the flag, although they might abandon the stripes altogether for pure, revolutionary red. All in all, whole "stripes" thing is based in US tradition and its "burgeoise" revolution, and we all know how com-coms feel about that ;)
