Thanks all! Yep trains will be part of it.
Thanks all! Yep trains will be part of it.
Thanks! That's Shaderforge.
Yep exactly right.
Thanks! Yeah they will be both a resource and a nuisance, finding a balance will be key.
Good call! Added.
We're designing the game so you can do a lot offline, like:
- Trading. You can setup stores to trade goods offline.
- Contracts. You can accept contracts to build things/perform labor even while offline. This is kind of like a quest system.
- Skills. You gain skills offline if you are well-fed.
- Food. You eat food while offline if you are in your own home and have enough to eat.
This will give players a lot of gameplay they can engage in passively, setting it up then checking on it infrequently if they dont have a lot of time. If they want to spend more time in the game, they can do that too and have important things to do. We allow a mix of commitment levels, and in fact having different players with different amounts of time they can play will be useful.
Thanks! Yes players can host their own servers on their own hardware, and there will be a number of public servers that we host as well. Player hosted servers can be public or private.
You can play with 1 player, but the experience is really designed for larger groups. To start 10-30, and we want to scale up to thousands.
Yep right here! Steamcommunity.com
Thanks guys! Hope you enjoy it. And as I mentioned there's a demo to check out on our steam store too: Store.steampowered.com
Yep on our steam store we have one:

Thank you sir, yes his music fit what we wanted to achieve with the mood really well, and we got it early enough to shape the game around it.
Thanks Nubbles! Glad you noticed that, it was actually a weird coincidence. About three years ago I named the game Vessel, then heard his tracks including 'Vessel' and decided it was perfect for the game.
Thanks, yes music has such an immediate power over emotion, perfect for setting the tone you want in a game if you can do it dynamically.
Yes, the title is a bit of that. There's a lot of meanings to the word 'Vessel' and all of them fit what we wanted to represent with our game on some level.
Yeah we picked the music really early in development and the mood of the game has grown around it, the result feels very coherent and whole I think. We're going to do a video explaining all the cool stuff we're doing with the music and sound soon.
Thank you! We've licensed the music of Jon Hopkins so it's all his music for the soundtrack, remixed to change fitting the puzzle you're solving. Works really well.
