ZakuTwo and I already contacted TimeS on the subject of stealth mechancis. The next update is supposed to have complete overhaul of the mechanics, dismissing RCS values in favor of simple Yes\No stealth for each angle, making stealth units always visible on the map and setting minimum detection range (as in range where stealth is ignored) as ~5 or ~7 km. (TimeS suggested 5km, methinks 7 is better for balance).
Hurray! My favorite Macross character.
Amazing, as always.
Also, stupid new rating scirpt refuses to save my vote, so 10/10.
That's because it's the same plane, 71-290 IIRC. When NASA tested the STOL\MTD program it had one set of engines and designation. When they tested ACTIVE program it had another set of engines and designation.
Much like Su-27M (borts 701-712) were designated Su-35 without VT-engine and Su-37 with them.
Not the only issue, to be honest. Su-37 and Su-27SM also require model corrections. TS already promised to take care of those, though.
Thanks. Those are already good news.
Typhoon and RAFALE are both rather iconic aircrafts, so it'd be great to have them. MOAR weapons is also great.
But I would recommend to increase stealth detection range to 7km. Methikns that would be better for balance, since most stealths are pretty advanced planes that have missiles with 7-8km lock range.
Xpand122 made both aircrafts. He's the one you need to ask for templates as well.
I have a couple of questions.
First and foremost, what is an approximate ETA of next update (this week, next week, around 15th, later)?
Will the new stealth system we discussed be implemented?
Will new aircraft be added or only new weapons?
@TimeSymmery, @Nergal01 (I post this here to avoid wipe).
Continuing on the cockpit issue.
ZakuTwo and I have discussed this in the past. Zaku says the good option would be to add "family cockpits" - take the family's most often used pit and apply it to all family.
I'm more in favor of "Gran Turismo" style approach. Make pits for more popular and interesting variants and use "silhouette\shadow" pits for others.
The no-texture issue was there, because, for some reason (probably to allow custom pits), cockpit texture was determined by .skin file. Technically, it's easy to fix manually by adding the proper lines to .skin file.
No, Kamcha's roundel is NK-ish star.
That would be just a black A-10 with some logos slapped on. You can find A-10 texture template in the plane's folder.
Such an addon already exists.
Not entirely out of the question, but not exactly on my "to do" list.
Just ignore that one. Looks very much like a troll.
Nice skins, by the way.
Have the same bug. Temporary solution I've used - manually edit sound settings in config.ini and don't adjust volume from options menu.
Hence the request for them as a holidays present.
Plus, T-50 prototypes won't even need weapon bays animations.
Since it look like that the update, likely, would be released around holidays, what do you think of and idea of long-awaited T-50 (T-50-1 or T-50-4) as a holiday present to VT fans?
Yes, though not for some time.
These are awesome. I especially like Gryphus Su-37.
Look up the motto translation.
Well, kinda. Less pumpkin-themed, more like nightmare\monster-themed.
Last year there was something said about the lack of Halloween-themed skins.
So, I'm making a Halloween-ish one this year, do you people want one for F-15C or F-14A?
Concerninig the USEA squadron, I'm only today back from vacation and in the process of testing the battle scenario that will be released along. Please, wait a bit more.
(Cannot talk for DarkStar, though).
This Su-34 has become 20% cooler.
Hey, TimeS. Have some important message for you from an author of one of What-If plane designs. Check your PM, please.
Thanks! PM sent. Warning, long post (due to many illustrations) incoming.
Hey, TimeS, I know, you're busy lately, but Ihave an elaborated question, considering the Flanker family (it concerns Su-27SM\SMK and Su-37).
Can I PM you? (I know you're checking front page more often than PM, so I'm asking here.)
You'll have to wait and see. It's a surprise, but a pleasant one.
