Take a look to the field right from the large "load" button. "Test mission" will only appear if it's set to the "Mission editor" in "Map editor" or "Campaign editor" modes it will disappear.
When "Mission editor" is active press the green "Test mission" button in the upper right corner. The window will pop up slightly below, prompting you to choose a plane and SP weapons. Do so and select "start test". Your custom mission will launch. After it's over you'll be returned to the editor.
P.S. Be sure to check "run as admin" on the VT's .exe file if you're running on WinVista and above. Otherwise you may encounter mission saving issues.
The map's great. The mission is fun. Also, a great belated holiday present to those who plan recreating ACX2 campaign.
Looking back, I've came to an important realisation. Since VT uses proper names for all the units - instead of generic Tank\SAM\AA Gun like AC does, some sort of encyclopedia might be needed, since the players might not necessarily know the name of some particular unit.
Superb as always. Must have for Eagle and Falcon fans.
Disregard that other comment below. Found the issue myself - increasing the number of available planes seems to be the root of the problem here. Simly changing which planes are the available ones is fine.
Version 0.9116. Crashes to desktop after I try to choose a plane. No savegames.
Note: I did edit available planes list, it stll worked fine in 0.9114. (.cmp file is unchanged since October).
And I have (had, when your comment was latest) an option to edit yours for some reason. WTF?
Also Restless Bonds crashes when I try to launch it. That supposed to happen at this stage?
It's a Windows system file that contains image previews, generated automatocally by the system, usually when folder settings set to "images".
And that's GLORIOUS!
Now just get missing RED side planes (Su-34, Su-24MR, T-50) and there will be no need to get ACAH whatsoever.
Included in the vanilla version of the game.
TimeS, does stress damage event have a corresponding HUD sound message (like stall or low altitude does)?
I've made a thread for this sort of questions, so the main page wouldn't get wiped by short technical questions:
Excellent, the FAF is here.
Love the Super Sylph.
The bast part - Ace GAF-1 flies almost the same way it does in ACX2. But without inhuman reaction.
If you look in the description, you'll see that this pack also contains Ace Combat 1, 2, X and Infinity themed skins.
Forgot to add: Thank you.
Old comments removed, as the issue was fixed.
Oh great. Now I'm going to dowload it and take my frustrations from ACX2 on GAF-1.
Thanks. Actually, Anniversary was not that hard, thanks to whomever uploaded the decals scan.
Aggressor was the tricky one - near impossible to find any actual reference photos.
These looks very good. Though I can't figure out what Belkan MiG is supposed to be.
Phew. It's done. I think I'll stick to smaller packs (5-7 skins) from now on, save for special occasions.
Restless bonds mission 4 issues detailed:
Pretty sure at least some were direct impacts. I did test it. The Abrams example is just one of many - I've got ineffective direct hits on large targers, like hangars and LCACs too.
On the subject of the Restless Bonds - mission 4 crashes randomly on me. I think it's related to DDGs and their long-range missiles, but not 100% sure.
TimeS, what is the general outline of the closest upcoming updates how many are going to be large-scale game code change, and how many are going to be bugfixes\content updates?
I've noticed strange behaviour of OFAB-100 bomb. It's rather weak against ground targets (direct impact on Abrams MBT deals less damage than standard missile), while much more effective against naval ones (four OFAB-100s is enough to take out Karel Doorman). FAB-500, on the other hand, is a FAEB in all but name.
On the minor issue - in campaign mode hangar statistc screen doesnt count in difficulty modifiers.
No, that's not exactly what I meant. I wanted to know if it possible to put "dead" units on the map in the mission editor? So that they start the mission as wrecks.
Considering the skins: I have completed Su-27, to demonsrate (sent via PM). But Su-30, Su-30MK2, F-15C, Su-27UB and most green-gray camo MiG-29s need more vibrant color skins.
Is it possible to put unit wrecks or "dead" units on the map in the editor? Or do I need a script that kills them when mission starts?
