Have you ever gotten a Source level to the point these guys had them? It's hard. Not just on the level designers, but the people creating the assets too, it's the hardest engine to use, with the hardest pipeline to get content into, and the least optimized. The point they were at, the only options were really either switch engines, get a Source license (far too expensive) or drop the project completely.
Too much motion blur, too much muzzle flash. Can't really say too much about the rest of it as it's pre-alpha.
I'll laugh so hard when the new CS game beats both of these pathetic games in sales.

Haha, what was meant with that is that a good portion of each level is sandbox, it doesn't have to be played a certain way. We may intend you to sneak around that grp of combine, you might backtrack, grab some grenades and blow them all up at once, then take the left road instead of the right and find some hidden piece of information about the cities story.
No, little things such as sound clips of a scientist observing a lab experiment (think that scene in I Am Legend where Will Smith's character is testing the cure) or a letter from a mother to a friend/sister about the difficulties of raising a child with chemical/biological deformities.
We are NOT asking for "freebies" in main assets, this competition is pretty close to this:
