I don't use torrents, is there another way to download this mod?

Is this mod still worked on?
I haven't installed it yet 'cuz - from the readme's - almost every companion choice is female. I'm female myself and prefer having a guy around. Any chance of making Romero (the ghoul from the Hollywood Cemetery) available as a companion? Or can I choose whoever I want ingame? I have Clans Mod installed right now and I just don't want to make another fresh game install for the Companions, only to learn quite late in the game that I just can't pick up the people I'd like to have around.
