My company Gale Force Logic's first iOS release Mujokan: Planemo is now on the app store! The Mujokan series is about taking a visually interesting scene and having you interact with it to choose your own ambient soundscape. Similar to setting up 2 or 3 Buddha Machines, you get to decide which loops to listen to. The word Mujokan is Japanese for "a sense of impermanence" which I personally think fits very well with the app. You start Planemo up and you have this world to interact with including it's own unique sounds, and then with a press of one button it's all gone! Mujokan as a word has ties to Japanese gardens as well which is also very appropriate for the sort of representational arrangements of scenes or areas that we are creating. This first release in the Mujokan series, Planemo has an intergalactic theme with planets and suns and other space objects. In the release version there is a center area with three planet/moons to interact with. If you're patient and wait for a spaceship to fly by you can be taken to a secret area with it's own planet and audio theme. I am really proud of how quickly Warren Schultz and myself put this together in UDK with as little actual code as possible. Kismet is a wonderful thing. The tracks weren't made specifically for Planemo, but future updates of the title will. And we are indeed planning on increasing the content of Planemo a few times over, so it is definitely worth the price! Keep an eye on the blog. I plan on having some videos of my sound-creation process up soon.Mujokan: Planemo on the app store.
