New fresh kubuntu 11.10 install is so pain in the *** to install, I tried but it gets stuck at "waiting for the network configuration" I tried to follow directions on ubuntu community, and ALT+F1 to get command shell and to get the install through with moving some stuff but no luck there :(

Have you tried to install Lubuntu with LXDE desktop on some antique PC's? It only need 100mb of RAM :D
I have to try to get install it in some Pentium 2 PC's :D. And I thought xubuntu is lightweight :3

yes, i already did that, and im using x86-ubuntu 11.10 on my old linux box here, I hope this PC runs idTech3 so ican play smoking guns, it should because it runs old far cry, doom 3, battlefield 2 on windows side, and also Valve's CS: Source runs well...All i can do now is wait ....
