Release...ugh. Turns out to be more complex than I thought. Maybe should not have tried to include plus and artefacts support. Just down to including the 2 extra hubs, maps and my sample custom hub.

Soon I think the beta will be ready for a release.

Saw this:
Games.slashdot.org

"Activision, after acquiring Vivendi, became the new copyright holder of the classic King's Quest series of adventure game. They have now issued a cease and desist order to a team which has worked for eight years on a fan-made project initially dubbed a sequel to the last official installment, King's Quest 8. This stands against the fact that Vivendi granted a non-commercial license to the team, subject to Vivendi's approval of the game after submission "

Looks like I need to add activision to my "will never buy" list. With just about every major vendor fscking up like this, there are very few left to buy from. Not much of a decision these days tho - nothing left in the budget for games anyway.

Why is it that when big title owners see clients (that give them money for - games, not exactly a necessity...) having fun with some game or other, they try to stop them. Isnt selling games to people to have fun with the point of this whole computer gaming business? Sheesh, why dont they just make a big sign that states "We intend to pursue failure". I may not work for a big name vendor or studio, but at least I'm smart enough not to harass the people that enjoy (or do anything else with) my code. Well, I also release it GPL + FOSS.

A good friend of mine thinks we are headed for a bad reload of the great depression. He may be wrong, but if it happens - watch the big money in gaming and all content industries literally disappear over night as people worry more about food and other necessities.
