Small fix from the first upload. Had forgotten to link the textures in the descr_model_battle. Send me a message if there are any other problems.

If you have Rome Total War with Steam you can use modswitch. You click on proprieties right on the game in the library menu. You type in at starting options (the free space below) the following: -mod:hydra -show_err. Now you can start the game and the mod. To play vanilla again just remove the starting option entry.

I have updated the zip file. Amazons generals couldn't be adopted and didn't reach adulthood because the general unit lacked the general attribute in unit description file and agents hadn't been made recruitable yet. This has been fixed now.

Hello krys-titan, I have found the problem. The general amazon unit lacked the general attribute in the unit discription file and I had forgotten to make the agents recruitable by the markets. Fix made into new zip file.

Thank you very much for your kind review. It would be cool indeed to include some monster units but in that case I would have to have ask someone to help me out.
I'm above all grateful for the positive feedback on plot line since I really wanted to make a difference there.
For the balancing part I must say this was the hardest thing to do. Even with several ai trails the Veneti simply didn't do what I wanted them to do namely attacking Thrace at full force. Therefore they are a bit OP indeed (and they still act quite passive). The Veneti are there more as an extra challenge for Thrace than I considered them a faction to play with but great to know you had fun with them! Could you also tell me which factions you considered OP beside the Veneti? So I can work on rebalancing them. I don't know how to add new music but I'm going to dive into it.

Good point there but I'm afraid that my modding skills aren't good enough to create such fantastical creatures. It is also a vanilla game mod so I don't want to put much into it that would give away the feeling from the original version but thanks for the suggestion.

True but while the island of Atlantis is far bigger and fits the description offered by Plato the unit roster is largely an upgrade of Numidia mixed with some Roman units while in this mod it’s based on the Greek unit roster which I personally considered a more fitting choice. The Fire Siphon is indeed a cool unit hands down but isn’t it a bit overpowered for a simple vanilla mod? Last but not least: this is an expansion that fits into a wider world that includes for example the Amazons. It's not simply a mod with Atlantis as a playable faction but thanks for the recommendation anyway.

Hey everyone, now of July 23 the last version of Total War Hydra (2.0) has been released. The faction of Atlanis has been added to the game (together with an volcano island in the Atlantic Ocean). Royal Bastarnae is now part of the base game. Victory conditions are now custum made. A few new unique charachter traits have been added. The event list is updated to add further immersion. There is no CarpiKingdom file, everything is now included in one file. If there are any problems please let me know.

Thanks for your comment. In the near future I'm gonna add Atlantis (together with the island) as a playable faction.

Editing is not hard just using gimp and generally I just change the colour but I'm not that experienced to create fully new models in 3dmax for units. If there is already a model for an inantry unit, you can make it a mounted unit which I did for the Amazon Horse Archers for instance. Sometimes an old model can work for a new unit like with the Armoured Archers (Massilia) but it's rare. When using someone else models I give them the credit for it.

CarpiKingdom is a seperate submod that you can launch in the same manner like hydra. It has the kingdom of the Carpi as a faction instead of the Amazons. Keep in mind that you cannot play this submod without the hydra file in your rtw directory.

hello everyone! A new version of Total War Hydra is now available. Amazons are now included as a new faction within the Hydra (vanilla) game and many more territorities have been added. Within the CarpiKingdom version, the kingdom of the Carpi starts now off with 4 regions instead of earlier meagre 2. Both the AI and human Players should now be more able to withstand the horde invasion of the Veneti and the sadly but unavoidable betrayal of Thrace. If there are any issues with the mod then please let me know.

You put the files in the RTW game directory were the data file is located. Therafter you use modSwitch (that's with the Steam version). So you type in with game properties (first right click on the game in your steam library) mod:hydra and run the game like normal.

Hello everyone, in the new upload (= NewHydra) all the files that were missing are now included. Apparently due to my modding of the vanilla game files (in a very early stage of development) I didn't notice some textures were missing. If there is still a problem please notice me of it. Happy gaming and ... hail hydra!

I have now seen a few files stayed in the data vanilla file after removing the game. I'm now going to be able to fix the problem. All beginners mistakes on my side, sorry.

Thanks for your reply. For some weird reason even after having done a clean install of RTW, the game keeps running without sending me an error signal, making it very hard for me to detect the misssing files. At the beginning I made the mistake of changing the vanilla files until I discovered modSwitch, that's the root of the problem.

Hi indeed the textures for numidian noble cavalry and noble falxmen were missing. I had put them accidentally in the files of the vanilla game. Otherwise evrything else should be working now.

Hi Korsakoff94, the reference to the Vanilla Extended mod should now have been completely removed. If there is still a problem let me know. Besides I personally really liked your VE mod and hope you like the twist I created with my mod.

Hi, I have through a clean install of the vanilla game detected the missing textures problem. It should be fixed now with the newer version (HydraCarpiKingdom.zip).

Hallo cheezmaple, this was the problem I mostly feared would happen. Could you please specify which units fail to upload their textures together with the error message?

I have seen now it's indeed fairly easy to chance the loading screen and menu. Today or tomorrow it will be done.

Hallo Korsakoff94, I tried to remove them in the past but i'm not sure how to do it. With my inexperience in modding i'm careful to change stuff. Is it possible just to use the vanilla RTW loading screens and replace them with yours without issue? I will add this new information to the credits.
